A couple of people in our group were taken to the wrong hotel, also called citadines within 5min of the Citadines South Hotel. If you arrive at a hotel that looks different to this picture, it is the wrong one. It can be helpful to tell the taxi driver to go to 'bank of Dalian' wuhou tianfu 3rd street no.102-180 as this is directly opposite the hotels entrance.

The paint finishings were rough around the edges, but the cheap price of the stay and good cleanliness made up for it.

Staff at the reception were exceptional, spoke thru google Translate, which wasn't a problem for them. Very kind and greeted us when we would leave and arrive back. They even helped book the Panda Base Tickets for us. Breakfast was yum every day, and rooms were always cleaned.

Less than a 5 minute walk from 3rd Tianfu Street metro station on Line 1. Several convenience stores and coffee shops nearby. The 2-bedroom suite includes a washer-dryer and a large comfortable sofa. Just like in photos. Gym was on the small side but was clean. Staff were friendly. Buffet food was good.

Of all the positive things above, the one thing that I want to emphasis is that the staff's lack of English capability makes it very difficult to communicate. Fortunately, I can rely on the translator app, and they were very patient about it. TV channels were all in Chinese ... so not so entertaining for our kids who barely speak Chinese. But it turned out to be a positive thing, because every night we had a family fun game.

The location of the hotel is so close to many things like the Family Mart, Lawson, places to have a quick bite like JianBing 煎饼 for snack, buns, McDonalds (we didn't visit it at all) and so much more. The big plus point is also because the hotel is near the "3rd Tianfu Street" metro station, so it is easy to get around Chengdu. Our room was spacious, and clean. We were staying in the 2 bedroom apartment, complete with kitchen, washing machine (a plus for a family), and two shower rooms. Their breakfast had plenty of choices, and they provide a la carte options too. Staff were friendly, and willing to help us with any questions despite of the language barriers.

Although located quite a distance from the city centre, the hotel apartment is within walking distance to the metro station. There are various restaurants beside the building. We booked an apartment with 2 bedrooms, very spacious and clean. 2 toilets with showers provided with basic amenities. The breakfast has a good spread of hot and cold dishes with enough seats available. Checking in require deposit and checking out is fast with automatic deduction from the credit card.

Honestly everything was great, I would only say since there are two Ascott Citadines hotels on the same main road, ensure Didi has them both in their app. Initially when I typed in Citadines it took me to the other location first.. but they helped me book a taxi back to the correct location. Other than that, everything was fabulous!

The staff were exceptional. The room was comfortable, quiet and very clean.

No wifi working for me but maybe not surprising. I was later able to get it at the airport by downloading the vpn app and using the china telecom password. I think the hotel could have done something like that for me too if they knew more about wifi. But then i was just passing through. I really did want internet access though so this was disappointing.

Fantastic breakfast included if you can get down there in time. It was a great experience. I had a corner room with lovely view from the bathroom. The bed was so comfortable. I didn't really need the kitchen and lounge but it was all very functional and well kitted out.

The rooms were very large - I especially enjoyed the shower section. I stayed with my partner and found the room very convenient but it could be more challenging for people uncomfortable sharing a washroom as the shower and sink area are not segregated. The hotel also provided cute panda keychains during our stay! We had delivery to the hotel and pick-up was convenient downstairs. There is also a small shop that sold buns and drinks next door. The room was very clean and the AC/Wi-Fi worked perfectly. We mostly took DiDi to get around and location was convenient for pick-up and drop-off.
