MalaysiaBreakfast was excellent and well replenished constantly. The chef Jim Cai was always on hand to make sure that the food has a lot of variety and the taste was constantly maintained. Zero Zhang that works at the concierge was superb helpful with insight guidance on where to visit in Shanghai and always ever ready to greet not just us, but all guests with a smile. Anny at the check in reception area who could speak fluent English was very kind and helpful in helping us to make reservations at restaurants and letting us know where the good shopping locations were. At breakfast every morning, Linda was also helpful in making sure we were well taken care of. Location of the hotel was spot on, literally a short distance to the metro.

Hong KongThe service and staff were excellent. Firstly, the front desk staff, Zero, did an excellent job in assisting me in check-in and check-out procedures. He was very friendly and made me feel very welcome in the hotel. Additionally, I would like to commend a housekeeper, Auntie Ling ("凌阿姨"), who worked on the 25/F. She was very well-mannered and provided excellent housekeeping service. She was very attentive and understood my needs. Moreover, the security guards at the entrance were highly appreciated. Despite the extremely hot weather, they assisted me with my luggage and opened car doors for me. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay at Amara.

It’s convenient, close to the metro, and very clean. One staff in particular, Zero Zhang, was extremely helpful and helped us with our luggage, provided umbrellas and breakfast when needed, gave restaurant recommendations and helped us get a taxi to the airport. He was very detailed and friendly, making our stay much more pleasant.

At the restaurant the food & beverage manager wanted to charge us the already paid breakfast, bdcause she couldnt even understand our room No. The breakfast room was always messy, dirty, missing glasses. As a hotelier I had to ask for cleaning to avoid accidents. The bathroom has an extremly slippery floor which is covered with 2 thick rugs, which can cause even more accidents beside absolutelky do not fit into the high class, modern bathroom. The pool doesnt have any sunbeds despite listed and advertised at booking, the staff provided us some yoga mats. One day they organised a summer camp for children. They were 15-20 children, around age 8-13, loud, messy, occupied the whold pool. Ridiculous in a 5 star hotel!
The spotless clean room, (thanks to lovely Li Xue Li) the spectacular view, the location of the hotel, the good value & the executive lounge. The lounge worthed every penny: good variety of drinks, great food changing every day, nice staff especially helpful was Una Yang. At the reception we got plenty help from Jeremy, he is a real hotelier typ, very kind and his English is perfect.

The staff service was excellent especially when I was stuck with no access to foreign apps. They helped me with setting up a free vpn and helped me with food delivery etc. The concierge were excellent with helping me arrange for cars to pick up my family from the airport. Further, the croaking ‘Ah Yi’ and n my floor (25th for) was excellent.

AustraliaI liked how the lobby area are practical but the room is absolutely 5 star. They seems to have spent money on the right things. We were met by Zero Zhang as a concierge. He helped us with luggage, making sure we are comfortable before he left the room. he is also instrumental in helping us save money on our transport back to the airport. The manager Annie Fan was efficient and courteous. Her English impeccable. At the breakfast, we had a bit of trouble ordering the noodle. The chef came over and told us that he will fix us his special noodles. The bowl came with specially mixed sauce. It was delicious. He also made us the Shanghai specialty, Fried mantou...we could not stop eating. We also enjoyed the gym area, it was well equipped for a hotel gym and used the swiming pool. Some in our group had a bit of trouble with maintenance matter, (we closed the super heavy door too hard) Yang Xiang 'e fixed it realy quickly. overall we found the hotel staff are very responsive to our requests. I have not even mentioned the location which is close to food and malls.
