“The hotel is a restored former residence belonging to an ancient high ranking lama. Set within the old neighborhood of Lhasa it gives you a real Tibetan experience. All the rooms are large, colorful, with a grotto like bathroom and plenty of seating areas. The roof terrace of the hotel gives you a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and the Potala palace which is lit up at night.”

  • “This is a true backpacker hotel. In the center of town, very affordable, large 2 bed room with own bathroom. Nice terrace on top of the house with a view to potala, which we used to eat food ordered from outside. Also washing facilities beds are hard, but staff helped with extra duvets and pillows. Oxygen in room.”

“This was just heaven. It’s an old palace of a lama with glorious ornate Tibetan decor and furnishings and colours. The rooms look spectacular. But you soon discover that it’s cunningly furnished and has every possible modern convenience. Excellent shower, comfy beds, lighting, all beautifully done. And a good breakfast too. Location perfect, well inside the old city, a few minutes’ walk to the Barkhor. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Staff also really helpful and warm and kind. It’s a real experience to stay here and enormously much worth it. And what a bargain too. And a fabulous view from the roof.”
