How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe stayed at Hotel Ultimo Paraiso on our drive north from Villa O’Higgins. Our charming room was very clean and well equipped. The shower was strong with uninterrupted hot water. The breakfast was by far the best we had anywhere during our 34-day road trip in Chile. Our host Carlos & Nela were incredibly friendly and nice. We had a flat tire the day we arrived and needed to have it repaired. Carlos was so helpful. The next morning, he drove us to the tire repair shop in town and negotiated with the owner a very reasonable price. If you are staying in Cochrane, I give the Hotel Ultimo Paraiso my highest recommendation.

They have created a wonderful place. The room was cozy, had a great shower, fluffy towels and the property covered in roses. The breakfast was also amazing!

Verified reviewCarlos and Nela are wonderful hosts. They treated us like old friends, helped us buy tickets online for Patagonia NP, and gave us great tips about places to eat and explore. Particularly appreciated them leaving a thermos of hot coffee and a hearty breakfast for us in our room the evening before we left early in the morning to climb a glacier.

Small very dark room with the only window looking at the other rooms. Insufficient parking. Water in the shower either scalding hot or cold, mixer not working. Overall fine for a basic B&B if we paid 3 times less, but for the price we paid I would expect way better.
Dear, I am very sorry that you have written this comment confusing our hotel with another place and that you have not deleted the comment as you should have done, since it does not correspond to our hotel and this harms us. I hope no one ever does something like that to you, it's not nice. I am going to list the reasons why I show that it is not our hotel and your comment is confusing: - Our hotel rooms are large (very large for the area), measuring more than 30 square meters. They also have a 60x60 window in the bathroom and another 1,20x1,20 window in the room that overlooks the garden and the entrance area to the room. It does not have windows to other rooms as it says, in fact all the rooms are independent. - You comment that the parking lot is small and we do not have indoor parking. The entire front of the hotel is parking for the hotel with 29 linear meters and when you were here, only your car and one other car were parked, therefore, this also makes us think that you are commenting on another place. - Regarding the dark room, in addition to the windows, there are 8 LED light points in the room and 4 more in the bathroom. - We also never have any problems with the shower water, all our clients tell us that it is fantastic in terms of pressure and temperature. - You talk about staying in a B&B and this is a HOTEL, 28 years beeing Hotel Último Paraíso. - You were informed about the restaurants in Cochrane and we even tried to communicate with them, this also makes us think that your comment is somewhere else. We also give you a map of Cochrane with all the information on restaurants and places of interest. - We speak English perfectly. I think it is more than proven that your comment is for another place and not for our hotel, so it should be deleted. I reiterate again: I hope that no one does something similar with you at some point, it is not pleasant.

Verified reviewRooms are large and extremely comfortable. Carlos and Nela are wonderfully helpful (thank you for telling us about the Maqui Waterfall at Guardal - it is spectacular!). Carlos lit the stove for us so the room was warm when we got back from dinner. It’s a really great location for exploring Park Patagonia. Breakfast is substantial! Highly recommended.
Not a complaint about the hotel just a note to say that you might want to bring pesos for payment as the hotel can’t adjust to remove the tax if payment is made by card.

Verified reviewWe were travelling in motorbikes and needed to change our plans. Fortunately they had a room for us. It was wonderful to arrive to one of the kindest and warmest welcomes we have had in South America. The room was lovely, beautiful bathroom and comfortable bed with lovely linen. Fire set ready to start. It was my husbands birthday and they had made homemade chocolates and a card in our room, and recommended a restaurant to celebrate. We felt welcome and cared for. What a lovely couple.

Verified reviewThis place is heaven. The owners are some of the best humans you'll ever meet. The rooms are incredibly comfortable, warm, clean and beautiful. The bathrooms are perfect, beds and cosy. A fireplace in each room prelit for your arrival to keep you warm too. The breakfast is incredible and their dog is super sweet and friendly. The owners helped us after a travel day of stress. Providing not just solutions but support. They truly go above and beyond. Meeting people like this makes travelling all the more worthwhile and we will be forever grateful to them both. There's no better option in Cochrane and throughout traveling to over 35 countries this was by far one of the best places we've ever stayed. Thank you again Carlos and Nela.

Verified reviewThe hotel is like a little oasis in Cochrane. There are lots of flowers and a garden for when you just want to sit in the sun and read. The rooms are beautiful. The beds are very comfortable and the bedcovers nice and warm. In the bathroom are really nice soaps etc. Carlos and Nella are very helpful with suggestions about where to eat and what to do. The breakfast was amazing. Fresh cooked eggs, fresh bread, cheese and lots of other choices. We only stayed for 2 days but would have loved to have more time there.
