Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot enough places to store things, so we were not able to unpack beyond the core necessities. Not much room to relax inside the unit itself.
SPECTACULAR location literally on the grounds of the Tahai national park— it doesn’t get better than that. We were in unit 2 and thoroughly enjoyed looking out at the moais directly from our terrace. The staff are very helpful and warm. A big thank you to Camila and Eileen, who are wonderful. Breakfast is brought to the room daily and included a selection of hot and cold items, French press coffee, and juice. The sunsets are phenomenal. Car rental is available onsite and there is complimentary water to refill bottles. The restaurant next door, Te Moai Sunset was very convenient and good.

United StatesNo complaints 👌
My husband and I liked that the lodge was away from the noise in town, though close enough to walk to town. We liked that the staff was able to arrange our tours on the island. Everything went very smoothly. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had asked for chamomile tea the first night I was there, and Camilla was kind enough to buy some for me the following day. Finally, the breakfasts delivered to our room were all yummy.

HungaryThe location is quite remote and it is not easy to get into town in the night, and the only nearby restaurant is not always open, which caused us some inconveniences during a national holiday and as a result we were left without dinner one night. There is also the problem of the friction between indigenous national park rangers and tourists because the only way into the town in the night is a 15-minute walk through the Ahu Tahai national park, which obviously the rangers wouldn't like tourists to go through in the night but neither the hotel receptionists told us this nor were they helpful when a quite aggressive ranger stopped us from going through there so we had to stay at the hotel without food.. Some rangers seem prejudicial to tourists and not very well trained to handle conflicts, which the receptionist girl also didn't help to resolve but at least it turned out that actually there is no such law or regulation that prohibits tourists to walk through there.. From the hotel's part it would be good to at least give some warning to tourists that if they enter that area in the night then they might get stopped by the local rangers so that they are not caught by surprise because it's very scary when someone comes flashing at you in an aggressive manner in a foreign place and you don't know who that can be
Most beautiful location on Easter island with a direct view to the Ahu Tahai moais. We had the foremost room with the panoramic view to the ocean and moais, but all rooms at least partially faced the ocean and moais. The room was nice, spatious and clean, and the terrace is big. We received breakfast on the terrace each morning, but beware of the poultry roaming around snatching food unless you are careful! :) There is a restaurant next to the hotel which is not always open though. We received nice welcome and also farewell gifts, and the free transfer was great.

ChileIt is a 10 min walk away from the main village, but you go through ruins and nice scenery (we loved the walk), although at night you have to come through the dark and flashlight are needed. We used the ones from our cell-phone. I guess with full moon this is not so an issue, or of you go by car during your whole stay.
The lodge is located in front of Ahu Tahai, a collection of Moai where the best sunset of the island can be seen. The room has direct view to them, and we could experience in room breakfast with the view. The rooms are spacious, Clea and comfortable. The staff is fantastic. They pick you up and leave you at the airport. The breakfast is given in room, at the time of your preference (starting from 8 am) and they were always on time.

Amazing hotel, in an amazing location! I couldn’t imagine a better place to stay in the island, the location is just perfect in front of the best spot for sunset, the Tahai site (moais). Staff are extremely friendly and lovely, they made everything they could to assist me and help me with everything. Rooms are good, great shower. Totally recommended!

United StatesThe location of the hotel was a dream -- it was right next to Ahu Tahai, which has some of the few moai you can see without a tour guide. It was about a half mile walk into town, but through the most gorgeous park with moai and ruins to look at each time we passed. The accommodations were like a tropical retreat. We were picked up from the airport by the hotel with a fun lei to greet us; they also brought us back at the return of our trip. We had a nice bed and bathroom facilities and beautiful porch to start each day. Every morning the hotel will bring you a lovely breakfast at a time that works for you -- a great way to start the day without having to trek into town for food. We also loved our few encounters with hotel cat who was often in the lobby. We really can't wait to be back!

CanadaThe lodge is close to the city (10 min walk) and right by the ocean, in a quiet neighborhood. It is also across from the Tahai moai statues. The staff is very nice and helpful. Romina recommended and booked a show for us, also recommended the next door restaurant which has very good food and we enjoyed the sunsets from the terrace. The breakfast is very good, the room was clean and comfortable. I higly recommend Takarua Lodge.

United StatesThe shower temparature is a little hit and miss especially in the morning but not a big deal.
The location of this hotel is stunning! Tahai is practically at the bottom of the garden overlooking the ocean and a perfect location for amazing sunsets. The rooms are spacious comfortable and super clean. Breakfast is served on a tray in your room with a good selection of hot and cold dishes and perfect for sitting out on the terrace to take in the goregous view. Town is about 15 mins walk along the coast line where there are plenty of restarants. There is also a very good restaurant right next door to the hotel. The staff are amazing from pick up to drop off. I highly recommend this hotel and if I ever make it back this is where I will stay.

United KingdomThis is an awesome hotel on Rapa Nui that is great value for money. The room was amazing, with views of the Moai on the coast. Perfect size, great shower and bathroom. The staff were fantastic and super helpful with everything. We rented a car from them and it was in good working condition and super straight forward. They also can help with tours (although we did not use them for this). They are also great for recommending restaurants. They also offer beach towels and umbrellas for your use. Breakfast was great and more than sufficient (although it does not deviate from standard Chilean hotel breakfasts - ham/cheese/bread/yogurt/cereal/scrambled eggs) They have drinks (paid) available as well you can get to your room which is great. They also have bottled water you can use to fill up reusable water bottles for free - which is great as it can get hot. The hotel is right next to the Moai and this makes it amazing. It is also quieter than in town. Although it is a 20/30 minute walk from the center of town which if you go in during the day can make it a sweaty walk! It was generally a quiet hotel, but there are wild chickens all over the island so roosters crowing in the morning is going to happen! Also go and see the sea turtle in town, they are amazing!

The location was amazing!! The views of the Ahu Tahai were just incredible- right from our deck !! The staff : Wow. All staff were super friendly, attentive and made us feel so welcome!! The shining star was Aylin - she helped secure the best table at the Moai Sunset restaurant last minute … she booked our last minute taxi request to Anakena beach .. she suggested and confirmed a beautiful sunrise Tongariki tour and she always made sure there were cold cervezas for us at all times !! We absolutely loved her - completely infectious smile and attitude - and the property. Cabana #1 was the best!!! They made our dream trip even more than we ever expected 🥰
