Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomReally friendly staff, they really do have a great team there. The Accomodation was spotless and we enjoyed the fresh breakfast every morning. The location was perfect for excursions and access to the shops and the Main Street, this did mean that some loud music could be heard at night but it didn’t bother us. Really hot shower and beautiful communal space

BrazilI think the room would be more comfortable if it had a heater (maybe a portable one) for the nights which are way colder than in the mornings. Still, we weren’t cold because there were many blankets.
The staff were very friendly and polite. The breakfast was also delicious and everything seemed very clean.

I have stayed in many cities in Chile and this was the best hotel. Owner and staff provided excellent customer service, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing room and great location in town center next to restaurants, bars, tour operators and shops. Hotel offered well priced laundry service.

CanadaOur room was the only room with shared bathroom, located just next to our room. All the other rooms has their own. But for some reason people keep using it even at night.
Great location. We had breakfast only once and it was excellent. They also pack a snack bag on the go if you leave early for your tours. It's a charming house with only five rooms. The staffs /owners are very helpful.

Everything was wonderful. The staff, including Camila, Francisco and Marlenka were absolutely fantastic, they were kind, very helpful and communicative. Location is excellent, right in the centre of town. Property is very well kept. Breakfast is great, and packed breakfasts are available if you have an early start! I’d stay here again if I return to San Pedro.

United StatesI was telling my friend who I traveled with that I genuinely had no complaints! I can’t think of a single thing I wish was different or better—this was one of the (in not the) best experiences I’ve had staying somewhere new!!
The breakfast was amazing and the staff was super friendly! The location was amazing and I felt super safe while I stayed! It was also incredibly clean and they offered tea/coffee every morning/night that my friends took advantage of! I also appreciated that our hosts spoke English and Spanish and everyone greeted one another when we stayed.

Very lovely and caring staff. Nothing was an issue, and if you speak a little Spanish, they are very happy to engage and provide you with helpful information. The ensuite room was simple but comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable.

Absolutely everything. The hostal is situated in a very quiet street yet a few metres away from the main street, so you can rest fully after a full day of excursion. The inside patio provides areas where to relax on one of the many sofas. Very nice breakfast prepared according to your taste * eggs, cereals, marmalade, ham, cheese, salami, guacamole by Milanka who is absolutely adorable. There is always coffee and a huge variety of teas and infusions on the table in the patio. Don Francisco, the owner, is amazing. He is caring, attentive, and will do everything he can to ensure you have the best possible stay. The hostel offers a laundry service at an extremely competitive price. The facilities are amazingly clean. This was home away from home.
