How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was nice, staff friendly and rooms were clean. The only thing was that it's a bit cold in the rooms so maybe pack an extra sweater.

I don't know if it's a booking.com problem but it's not a first time when I paid a different amount than mentioned on booking confirmation. As a tourist I should be exempt from paying VAT and still I paid it. I understand to forbid parties but any alcoholic beverages? Quite a nonsense. Kitchenette is enough only to warm up a food, not to cook anything and kitchen is available only in the afternoon. And there was only one socket in a whole room, the far end of it so you cannot charge your phone next to your bed.
It was ok for one night. There's a bar next door, I saw other's guests complaining about the noise, but I haven't heard anything - maybe I got a good room or it was quite that night. It was clean and warm.

Only two small things - Towels left fuzz on our hands, and there could be more room in the shared bathrooms to set stuff down or hang stuff up.
Very friendly staff, comfy beds, good location, very warm and cosy inside. Kept the luggage we didn’t need for a few nights whilst we were elsewhere.

Just a warning than a dislike - Basic food preparation facilities (kettle, microwave, toaster, toaster oven and fridge; no stove or pots/pans) - forewarned is forearmed

Good location. Large shared fridge in the common area. Decent bed with blanket/duvet. Heater in the room and also the corridors work well.

Very loud place. No curtains, so you automatically wake with sunrise. No real community area.
Uncomplicated and flexible check-in, friendly staff. Functional, good location in the city center.

It’d be nice to have access to cooking facilities.
The accommodation is basic, but really good considering the price and the area. The room is warm and there are lots of blankets, it was also nice to have a TV. The shared bathrooms were clean and the shower was lovely. The family that runs the place is super nice and helpful.

Clean, cheap, welcoming, great location and held our bags for us multiple times! Only con is that you have to pay in local currency and cash which is not specified online!

Only 2 things bothering: - no heating in the rooms because the only heater is in the hallway… we had to leave the door open while packing for example. Otherwise not cold during the night because there is a lot of blankets. - kitchen hours make it complicated to use when you want to use it (opened from 15h-19h) but it can be flexible and we managed to still cook dinner. You need to ask :)
Incredible staff, very very nice and helpful. You have coffee and tea for the morning.

The walls are super thin, but I travel with earplugs and a white noise machine so it didn’t bother.
Incredibly comfortable bed for a budget hotel and wonderful, fluffy towels. I appreciated the use of the refrigerator and 24 hour coffee availability.

The big problem is the noise from bar next door. Unfortunately there wasn’t a twin bed room avail on side of hostel not next to the bar. There isn’t any sound proofing so feels like the party is in the room. Shame

Main problem was a very noisy bar next door & no sound proofing. The decor is definitely different, loads of plastic flowers & bright colours…
