Calling it a "hostel" is a bit of a misnomer. It's a guesthouse -- and it's a very good guesthouse! But if you're a solo traveller looking to make new friends and meet travel companions, this isn't the place. The bar just across Balmaceda Street plays very loud music until about 2 AM. Bring earplugs just in case you're in either of the rooms at the western end of the hostel.

Extremely helpful staff, comfortable beds, a basic but adequate breakfast, and a good location at a good price.

I wanted to enjoy all more but I ended up sick.

I gave this a 10/10 because Betty is really a woman from a magical realm, and so her staff Miss Venezuala, I like them all and they live in peace and let you just do your thing. The accomadation is very clean and I was nervous about going in a place and smelling a bad smell and there was none what so ever. It was a little room but it was peaceful and the mind is free to have wonderful thoughts. I like Felix the Cat and seeing hes little sleeping face in wonderland.

It was a little far from the town center but wasn’t a big deal as I enjoyed the 10-min stroll, which allowed me to check more things out.

Great location, just a few blocks from Plaza de Armas and restaurants, bars, and shops. The waterfront is just a few blocks beyond that. The amazing cemetery is about 15-20 minutes walk away. Comfortable room. Good breakfast.

The bed mattresses were not the best—they were old and sagged. Additionally, the photos online are quite outdated and haven’t been updated; the rooms look older in reality, and some furniture and fixtures were broken. What I liked the least was that the toilet and shower were shared, not private. On top of that, there was a nightclub right across from the hotel, and it was very noisy throughout the night.

I enjoyed that the room was clean. Additionally, the house was beautifully decorated with ship-themed sculptures. The staff was amazing—friendly and helpful. Although they didn’t speak English, we managed to communicate. Breakfast was good. Most importantly, the owner put their heart into everything and truly did their best.

The room was quite small and with little space to keep the luggage and personal items. There is basically no sound isolation, in the night I could clearly hear the snoring from the other room, people using the toilet and the noise from the boulevard. Unfortunately, later I found out this is the case in all accommodations in the region.

The hotel is good, the hostess was very friendly and nice. The location is very central, close to the bus-sur station. The shared bathroom and toilet were kept very clean. There was a modest breakfast included in the price as well, which was nice.
