Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything was great! Staff were lovely and really accommodating, bedroom and bathroom were really clean and the breakfast on a morning was great and when you couldn’t make breakfast due to having tours booked they gave you a bag of snacks to take with you which was really kind. Would definitely recommend!

GermanyThis is honestly the best hostel I’ve stayed at. It’s new, spacious, and very clean. The breakfast is delicious, and the rooms are cleaned regularly. There’s always hot water available, and the kitchen is large and fully equipped for cooking. The common areas are cozy and perfect for relaxing. The Wi-Fi is excellent with Starlink, and grocery stores are just a short walk away. Highly recommended! The hostel location is also amazing — at night you can see countless stars, which makes the stay even more special.check pictures which i took from hostel

Hostal Belen has a great positive vibe, you really feel it, extremely relaxing and you feel like you’re on a treat just staying at the property. It’s very well designed and organised and people running it extremely friendly and go for the extra mile to help you out. Nayira is a great woman in charge of the Hostal.

ItalyHostal Belén is a true bless! Cozy, spotless, quite like heaven, the staff (Franchesca and Marcela) are the best hosts ever met. Not to mention Nayira who manages the booking (accommodation and excursion) and the direct communication: incredible. Always smiley, welcoming and ready to help. The place is located 10min walk from the Caracoles and believe me, this "distance" is a bless. Around there's a mini market and a mall a bit bigger. The room (double room with private bathroom) was very nice and being cleaned every day. The breakfast was delicious and Marcela cooks scramble or fried eggs and pancakes upon requests. If you have to leave early in the morning due to an excursion, the staff will prepare a very rich snack bag. The garden is too lovely and curate to be handled, amazing. This place is a true must to stay in San Pedro de Atacama!!

ParaguayExcellent accommodation! The staff are extremely hardworking and friendly—so much so that even the guests feel inspired to keep up with their kindness 😊. The place is spotlessly clean, with cozy territory inside and a spacious kitchen fully stocked with all kinds of tea, coffee, and more. Breakfasts are nice, and the blankets are warm and comfy. The hot shower works perfectly—just give it a minute to heat up. The location is also great: close to a supermarket and only about a hundred meters from one of the best stargazing spots—the desert itself. You can easily walk out to enjoy breathtaking views of the desert and mountains. Highly recommended for a comfortable, welcoming, and serene stay.

GermanyThe front door needs a bit of oil. Every time, it is opened, it makes a loud noise. The WiFi was poor.
The place is really amazing! Really good breakfast. Spacious rooms. Tours can be organised and bikes be rented. A short walk from the center in a quiet street. Definitely recommend to stay here!

CanadaNot much negatives to comment except I found most guests are all to themselves and not very socialable and approachable compared to the other hostels. I did not get my change back from the payment for the stay which was a disappointment. It's not the amount that matter but its the business transaction integrity.
I enjoyed my 4 night stay. Belen accommodated to allow my car parked inside the property. The kitchen is small but clean and has adequate cooking utensils. Breakfast is simple including eggs and pancake. The shared rooms have 4 single beds with private washroom and showers, and the cleaner kept the room cleaned everyday including making the beds. The location is 1.5k outside of the downtown area which is good, away from the dusty road. There is a veggies and fruits market with lots of selections close by. I did all my cooking for the 4 night stay which thoroughly enjoyed it.

United KingdomA lovely little hostel hidden away in a courtyard, felt safe and secure. Room was a good size with a fan. Hammocks in the courtyard to use. The kitchen was well stocked although we didn’t cook but useful for storing snacks and making sandwiches for lunch. Breakfast was lovely with crepes, cereal, toast, juice etc. staff were friendly and helpful, they helped us with a bus ticket issue and were understanding when we arrived a day late due to a transport problem (we did contact them ahead of time). They also booked our shuttle from the airport for us. Shops nearby for essentials and about 10-15 mins walk from the centre. Tours picked us up here no issue. A perfect spot to explore San Pedro de Atacama. Negative- We always book places with smoke alarms and this place did say they had them but it’s not something I saw in the room. Would be worth installing for safety.
