How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Very clean, new facilities. Great hot shower. Near to bus station for early morning departure to W Trek / National Park. Pack up breakfast provided. Free tea and coffee always available. Will store excess luggage if you return after trekking. Close to the Last Drop gin distillery and bar, that is worth a visit for the free tour!

I had an incredible stay at Hostal America. The rooms are great and the staff is amazing! They are so kind and provided a great breakfast. The WiFi is also very fast.

Guests were a bit noisy early in the morning which could be heard in our room.

We stayed for one night after finishing the W trek. The place is only few minutes away from the bus station which was very convenient for us. We were also surprised how good the breakfast was-fresh fruits, eggs, sponge cake, yoghurts, cereals, bread and multiple different spreads. The room and bathroom was very clean and had everything what we needed for night

Everyone was super lovely and helpful. The breakfast was great! Location is also amazing, only a few minutes away from the bus station. The rooms were clean, silent/quiet and everywhere was warmed! 100% recommended!! Nothing not to like, it is exactly what is advertised!

The receptionist is very friendly. We were on the 2nd floor and were ok because we only had carry on lugguages to carry upstairs. The location is quiet and not much store around. It takes about 7-10 mins walk to restaurant and shop area.

Soundproofing isn’t great and every morning people are leaving early for the trek so earplugs are needed Little bit out the way of the main town

Staff was amazing! Very nice. Breakfast was standard. They were very accommodating with early breakfast due to leaving in the W trek early in the morning. They also held our bags while we were on the trek.

Could use extra shelf in bathroom.
Breakfast was v.good. Clean enviroment. Pleasant welcoming staff. Very good location if you are using buses. Short walk everywhere. Two 2 min walk places to eat.

Location was close To the bus terminal but a bit of a walk from restaurants and shops. It’s ok for us. The breakfast was great. Freshly cooked eggs and homemade apple scones were delicious. Compliments to the staff on how clean the rooms were. We felt comfortable just because it was so clean.

Everything was great! Clean room, bedding and bathroom. They had a heated rack next to the sink for drying your towel or in my case clothings. It definitely made my visit as I was able to do my own dirty laundry in the sink and hang dry it quickly. They were able to accommodate on your breakfast if you need an earlier breakfast for your treks.

Nice hostal. Clean and comfortable. Good beds, great shower room and toilet. Fast wifi. Good quiet location, convenient for the bus station. Great breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Will store gear if you are reserved for coming back. Great base to do Torres del Paine walks.

Nice clean and comfortable room. Great ensuite shower room and toilet. Quiet location, fast wifi. Excellent breakfast. Would have stayed longer, but not surprised it was fully booked. Great place to start and finish the Torres del Paine O or W trek. Near the bus station amd will store extra gear while you walk. Top grade hostal. Do yourself a favour and book here, you won't be disappointed.
