How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The owners were very polite. The room is comfortable. The house is very clean. Irrespective of the language barrier, it was a good interaction with the owners using a google translator.

The rooms are in a shared hallway and the bathroom is shared between all the residents so not enough privacy as a couple

The room is inside the house, with no windows that look outside. The bathroom is not en-suite, but still comfortable.
Very well located in town. Very neat and clean with a good breakfast. Comfortable bed and heating in room. Great host!

Would prefer not to share the bathroom with other guests, but apparently the other bathroom on the property was being remodeled at the time of our stay.
Great breakfast included in the price. Beds were comfortable and host was very welcoming and friendly. About a 15 minute walk from the bus station.

The most problematic issue is the lack of windows. I think they should mention it. Another thing is: When it's written that you have facilities in the kitchen it's not really the situation. It's the hosts house and they don't really like you to walk in. It is understood of course but just be aware. In the limited breakfast the host wasn't very pleased with our request for a pot to boil ourselves some coffee. But for one night it was ok.
The location is good. We got a recommendation for a restaurant.

Great location within 10 minute walk to the bus terminal. Clean and comfortable with a kind host. The host stored our extra bag while we were trekking in Torres Del Paine. The host accommodated our late arrival and early departure. WIFI was great. Great value stay.

Clean and comfortable. Great WIFI. Host very nice and accommodating despite not speaking English. (Google translate). We stayed on both ends of our trip to Torres del Paine and host kept an extra bag for us. Close to supermarket and restaurants.

Shared bathroom for two rooms - need to sequence morning tasks carefully.
Breakfast could be arranged as early as 6 am, if you have to catch early transport. You are provided keys for late entry in the night. The staffs - Miguel and Maria are very helpful.

Can't tell a thing.
Miguel is very kind and attemptive. He prepared a very nice breakfast and the house is super clean and well organized. The deco of the house has maritime team which is very interesting to see and learn about sea related tools. Location is super convinent.

It is a private room in the apartment of a couple with shared bathroom. There was no window in the room and we thought the kitchen could also be used, but kitchen is private. We were also a bit confused on the price as we were told the night costs 50$ and not 40$ as shown on booking. Maybe it was the breakfast
Great location in center of the city. Nice hosts, but only Spanish speaking. Everything was clean and comfortable beds. Good breakfast :)

No window in our room towards outside. Better book the King bedroom next time. The breakfast is the same all three days with egg for one day only

Lovely host who helped us with some questions about Puerto Natales and kindly allowed us to store our luggage while we went into town and before our plane. Very comfortable room and bed and plentiful breakfast.
