Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThis is stargazing heaven. A 'glamping style' dome with private deck facing south allows you to see the full stellar spectacle that Elqui Valley puts on. Even from within your bed, with a rooftop opening ! The experience was amazing. Just make sure to bring plenty of mosquito repellent, as they won't leave you alone inside the dome.

United StatesWhen we opened up the roof for a better look at the stars the pole to hold up the roof began to bow. We were afraid that it would break if we left it open so we closed it and didn't get to sleep under the stars.
Our bed was very comfortable. Our view was nice. The only problem was that there was a light that stayed on right under our window. The breakfast was very nice and yummy.

United StatesWe had to trudge up so far to get to our room in the dark, with our suitcases and no help. My friend and I are in our seventies so it was exhausting and a bit dangerous. Also some problems with checkin since I felt I had paid in advance yet there was no record of it anywhere.
able to see the stars beautifully, at least for the first night. second day was cloudy. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. we enjoyed the quiet and our walk through the nearby town.

PortugalThe pool is not working. The hot tubs are not working The telescope is not working. Basically anything that we could do other than being on the bedroom was not working. Not worth the price.
The Domo was very beautiful and the view of the starts at night was breathtaking. The breakfast was simple but good and cooked for us.

SwitzerlandNothing to say but you have to be aware that to go up you need to walk a bit and you have to be careful. But it’s not something it should stop you to stay here.
Everything was amazing. We stayed and the observatory cause we wanted to see the stars at night time and it was worth it. it was the best place to do that and the house was beautiful. We had breakfast as well so good.

United StatesI came to Chile to photograph the stars. I selected Milodge Elqui Domes because they offered “observatories”. This is misleading. The rooms are not observatories they are just rooms. There is an observatory, but it is “closed”. To find a place high enough to set up my telescope, I would have had to carry my equipment up a mountain side, there is no useable road. Instead, I was given a dome. This dome has no table, no chair and no desk. There is Wi-Fi, but only in the reception area which closed at 1730. The safety railing on our deck is wobbly. There are cracks in and around the door and in the base up which the dome is erected. A few days before I was to arrive, I received an email with my arrival date wrong and a link for credit card information. The link did not work. I called, but they don’t speak English. Booking.com straightened out the arrival date mistake. I finally asked to leave two days early and asked for a refund. They were sorry, but no refunds, company policy. I am leaving anyway. I came too far to photograph the stars to stay here. This is the most overpriced and disappointing stay I have ever booked with booking.com.

ChileThe price the I was shown in my reservation was not the one I ended up paying, which was a lot more! So they didn’t respect Booking.con rate! We didn’t have electricity for more than 8 hrs and the shower leaks and had bad drainage. Very hot domos and not enough ventilation. They need better insulation for the summer. This is not a location ADA approved or for senior people. Missing handrail, and the top stairs is supper dangerous to come down!

United StatesIronically, also the location. It takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to drive from the airport, and once there, you must drive long distances to every attraction. I had been there 6 years ago and I enjoyed my stay 100%. However my 25 years old daughter did not enjoy the drive though the sinuous, up and down, and high road. We had to book a hotel in Vicuña for the rest of our stay.
The location was perfect as it is settled at the end of the valley in Paiguano. Peaceful and quite, perfect as a retreat to recharge your batteries. Christian, the person on site, was super nice, accommodating, and helpful. Breakfast from 9-11 was delicious.

United StatesDue to unforseen events, the hot tub was not available. Hardly the fault of the resort, everything else was as advertised.
The entire valley moved at such a relaxing pace, yet each time we asked the staff were quick to provide an answer or deliver our request. Communication was easy through Whatsapp, which made the language barrier negligible.

It was very quiet. Only the two of us staying here perhaps because it was a full moon. The rooms are lovely. Good shower and facilities. Fab view from the windows over the bedroom. Parking is onsite and easy. Wifi only available in the reception area. Pool was lovely for a swim and the Pisco Sours were great. The breakfast included cereal, yoghurt, eggs, ham, cheese and bread. The staff were helpful and used google translate to help us. we arrived on a Monday and did not know that everywhere is closed to food after 5pm on Mondays - be warned. some places were open on Tuesday’s.

United StatesThe wifi was a little spotty but that’s just the location and not the properties fault.
Gorgeous! Beautiful views, the domos were cute and comfy, and the pool and architecture of the building was awesome. Our host Flor was incredibly helpful and so sweet. We arrived late and she welcomed us with a pisco sour! She also connected us with a driver that helped us get around. The night sky is breathtaking and we could open up the ceiling in the domo so fall asleep under the stars. Overall highly recommend and can’t wait to go back one day.
