How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing, it’s a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Santiago.
Absolutely amazing stay with the nicest host! Francisco was amazing from start to finish. Breakfast was lovely, they even went the extra mile as to recognise on the first day we did not eat the Ham due to dietary choices and confirmed with us via messages, following morning it was replaced with tomato which was very unexpected but appreciated. Room is as described if not better!!

Incredibly friendly and helpful host; the B&B is beautifully decorated and bright with natural daylight. Only stayed here one night, but would stay longer. The breakfast was more on the simple side.

Fabulous, friendly, and helpful hosts. Location is perfect for walking to major sights and centers. Lots of restaurants/cafes in the area. Castelletto also offers Chilean sandwiches - very delicious and filling. I actually stayed here twice on my exploring as I enjoyed it so much the first stay.

After traveling for 38 years in 57 countries, probably staying in more than 400 places, I must say that Castellotto B&B is top 5 for me in this category of places. (I have never given a 10, so this is top score for me.) And I might add, I’m a very critical person. But when I experience a stay like this, I like to tell others about it. (I was the oldest guest. Mostly quite young couples.) This is for me a family guesthouse, with maybe seven rooms. Friendly and good info in advance, very useful practical info without any tourist trap bullshit while staying, nice wooden floors and doors, very clean room and bath, good bed, stable Wi-Fi, and nice breakfast with cereal and yogurt, toast with ham/cheese/jam, fruit, juice/water, and coffee/tea. And free water/tea/coffee. Staying in a very quiet neighborhood two blocks from Plaza Brazil with kids playing, and one of Santiago's biggest bar and restaurant areas I think, avenida Brazil, is smart. Safe area. Even safer when you stay there and know where your bed is. So great location. You can both eat frittes, sandwich, hamburgesas, completo, pasta and pizza, or more expensive very good seafood or beef. Just do some research. A lot of beers and cocktails. 80% Chilean people there, maybe. Friendly. Because Yungay square is more for daytime «architectural» walking and lunch. Just 10–15 minutes away. And the metro station Cumming connecting you to Santiago's great Metro system is 3 minutes away. (On very hot days, the metro will cool you down.) I felt that «Mrs and Mr Castellotto» really wanted me to have a nice stay. Listened to my questions with interest. And their spoken English is much, much better than the average in Chile. So. As you might have expected: I can recommend this place.

A wonderful hotel/guest house run by a charming couple. Fabulous comfy beds and spacious rooms. We stayed on 4 separate occasions in both the ensuite and shared bathroom rooms. We left our big bags whilst we explored central & northern Chile & Rapa Nui. This made our visit so much easier. Thank you Francisco & Barbara you were great hosts. We hope to visit you again when we return to visit southern Chile. Happy New year 🎊

I love this neighborhood. The hosts were super helpful and I liked being able to grab breakfast whenever I wanted. from this neighborhood that doesn't take long to get anywhere in Santiago.

Franciso and Barbara were excellent Hosts - they really go above and beyond to welcome you and insure a comfortable stay! Plenty of restaurant options within a few blocks and only 2 blocks from a Metro station.

Lovely beautiful 100 year old house and rooms. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Very friendly owner. We could even get breakfast as a buffet at 5 am. Very nice restaurants nearby. We loved everything about it
