Nice house, 10 min walk to the Centro with good restaurants and shops. Set back far enough from the main road that sleeping in was an option. Staff was nice and the place was clean. Breakfast is a simple spread every morning but good; fruit, scrambled eggs, juice, toast, cereal with hams and cheeses. Wifi can be spotty depending on where you are and how many people are on it but an intl Sim helps with that.

We had a downstairs room but really heard very little noise overhead.

Casa Kalfu is a charming facility. We had no problem checking and found our room to be clean and well appointed. the location puts it far enough from city center to limit hoards of cruise ship day trippers from impacting your stay but close enough to be able to walk there. Also there are several restaurants in the immediate area.

Location was perfect, block off the lake and a great little restaurant. The room was very comfortable and the shower was great. The breakfast in the morning was perfect, lots of selection. Parking is right behind the hotel. Our room was on the lower level and there was a little noise from people above, however, we sleep with white noise so wasn't much of an issue. We have a second stay booked in a couple days.

Noise from other guests departing earlier than us. Some were dragging their suitcases down wooden steps - very noisy. Would have liked a mini-fridge because we were on a 6 week journey and need to keep some items refrigerated.

The WiFi was intermittent and lost signal. The shower was nice but the temperature was inconsistent.

The hotel was in a good location to explore puerto varas and had a car park which we appreciated. The staff were nice and there was a good breakfast. Comfortable room and beds with good cleaning.

I absolutely love this place and super recommend it! The accomadation was cozy and warm, with a living room that truly felt like home. The breakfast pastries were out of my expectations. The location is about 1 km from the town center but that's not an issue at all.

A few basic things like the nightstand lamp didn’t work and the plug for the tub was too small. Not huge things but small details that make a difference with a kid.

Literally nothing we didn't like, it was very charming.

We loved this place, our first stop in Chile! Very friendly :) It has a great location (a block away from an excellent pizza place), and walking distance from downtown. We walked down the hill to the walking path by the water, then towards downtown. The breakfast (free) was very good (meat, cheese, bread, fresh made-to-order eggs, good coffee and a sweet cake). We paid for lunch there and ate good sandwiches. The host spoke excellent English and was very helpful.

My only complain was the poor wifi connection.

Kalfu is great, very comfortable and clean. At first it may seem a bit far from the city centre, but Puerto Varas is a really small town, in 10min walking you reach everything you need. The staff is lovely, very helpful and made us feel very welcomed. The breakfast doesn’t offer wide range of options, however everything was delicious.

it was an outstanding location a beautiful walk to the center of the city. It had the feel of an old-time ski lodge at Lake Tahoe or squaw Valley. The staff was exceptionally nice, the breakfast was delicious and all food there was fantastic.

The windows don't close well, there was a curtain missing and the plug of the bath didn't fit, so the water disappeared immediately.

The location and infrastructure are fine. Don't expect to find a great luxury plece. It's a hostel, not a hotel. The simplicity of a traditional and rustic place provides the element to stay comfortable.
