How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing really, we will definitely stay here again!
The staff was super friendly, he was kind and attentive all throughout our stay. The room was comfy and cozy, the beds were soft and awesome to sleep in.

Slightly off the city center, but we made the walk multiple times to avoid dealing with city traffic.
Really enjoyed our stay in Puerto Varas at Casa Ellies. It's a historic building made into hotel, nicely decorated with artifacts of the buildings past. We appreciated the facilities, private parking and a surprisingly great breakfast. Moreover, the hospitality of Pablo added much to our enjoyment of the stay. Thanks for having us! Will definitely recommend.

Relaxed. Staff friendly and helpful. Paulo let us use the office desktop computer to make a booking when we were unable to do so on our mobiles and tablet. Able to use communal kitchen and lounge, as well as garden. Quiet location. Quirky hotel. Breakfast quirky, with very nice kuchen served every morning.

Excellent location and sweet host Pablo! Thank You for all of your help and guidance to great resto La Olla! Traditional property in a residential compound in Puerto Varras. Lots of wood, charming and very in character for the South of Chile. Secure parking. Rooms are fine, bathroom is definitely on the small side. Bed was comfortable and heat worked well. Nice breakfast area/lounge that is good for working or hanging out. Property is about a block from the beach. But to walk to the center of Puerto Varras takes 15-20 minutes.

Lack of variety at breakfast. A bathroom requiring a reconformation to make better use of its space and a glass shower enclosure rather than a plastic curtain. Noise was transmitted from other bedrooms.
The star of this show is the host, Simon, kind, knowledgeable and attentive. The situation is a little out of the centre but handy for several eating places and free from traffic noise, which is a growing problem in and around the town. The building is spacious and there is a large garden. The hotel is in its first year of redevelopment from a hostal and has considerable potential.

Amazing staff, the owner took care of all pur needs with a great smile. Gave us a very warm and comfortable feel in this beautiful vintage renovate house. The place is well located in a quite street adjacent to a small (not the main) city center and the lake front.

The bed sheets had hair and they changed upon our complaint. Later the pillow sheets had hair too and they changed them too. . The room was extremely small for us to move around.
the shower water temperature and the pressure were excellent 👌 👍 The staff were good and very attentive.

In general it was clean, but in the shower there were hairs in the floor drain.
Quiet location with a garden and on the good side of Puerto Varas for excursions. The host was very friendly and helpfull.
