How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSecluded rustic villas right on the beach. Great shower and kitchen facilities. Large fridge freezer and free access to a washing machine. All in all a great place to stay, we have already re-booked
The ranchslider was hard to open and close and the kitchen drawers the same.

Verified reviewSat on our decks and had fantastic view of the lagon. Just a walk up the beach to a great snorkling spot. Had good chairs out on the beach to read books.
I know water issues are a norm in the islands but the water was a bit smelly when having a shower, We only drank bottled water or water from one of the water stations on the island.

Verified reviewThe beachfront location is fantastic. Felt very private. Beautiful view, sunset over the water, great swimming nearby and you can easily reach all the different parts of the island from here by moped. The lodge is a good size and has a great kitchen (including large fridge and oven). Shower also great. Access to kayaks was appreciated. Property is well maintained. Always a pleasure to come back to after the day's activities. Our host was very helpful with arranging transport and storing luggage - thank you T! We would very happily stay again.
The bed was a bit soft and spongy, hard to avoid waking each other up.

Verified reviewExceptional views. Safe . Warm welcome at airport by the host with a garland of flowers, took us around the island to show us the the close by restaurants and amenities. Free kayaks and snorkel gear. Friendly staff who gave us free coconuts. Best place to stay !
Wish we were allowed late checkout as our flight was late in the evening.

Verified reviewFabulous with breathtaking views from the bungalow of the beach and lagoon. Absolute beachfront & makes you feel like you have this piece of tropical paradise all to yourself. Very tidy, everything you need for a self-contained holiday. The location is close proximity to the prettiest island’s landscape, lagoon/reefs cafes/restaurants/bars, and everyone is so friendly. Tearoa was a wonderful host. She personally provided transfers, organized our scooter hire and lagoon tour, took us to the local shops for supplies and was contactable at all times. Seaside made you feel the sense of ‘island time’. Would definitely stay there again.
Wifi was glitchy but recommended to purchase a vodafone sim.

Verified reviewBeachside location. Lovely lagoon view, with sunset over water. Very good snorkeling about 200m up beach ( can also snorkel directly out front, but not as many fish) . Comfortable, semi-private self-contained bungalows. Kayaks.
Probably need own wheels ( we hired a mini-truck. Scooters also a fun option) as a fair distance to main town area.

Verified reviewEverything. Stunning location, everyone is so friendly. The weather was beautiful 😍 bed was comfy, there is air conditioning for those hot evenings... New fridge, everything was there that you needed to self cater. The room was very clean. The gardens lovely. The location is great to everything. You will need a vehicle to get around the island,. It's way more fun that way ... But there are nice eateries within walking distance...
That we couldn't stay longer 💖

Verified reviewMy husband and I stayed here for three days in late June 2025. If you are after the perfect beach view direct from your room but set apart from other guests then this is the place for you. They are self contained bungalows with only two other bungalows onsite but they are completely separate from each other and not set too close giving a sense of solitude and having your own slice of paradise. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric hobs and cooking items. Suggest that you bring your grocery items from Rarotonga for cooking as grocery options are limited on Aitutaki and we would have loved to cook and eat on the front balcony to enjoy the views for longer. There are also restaurants at the nearby resorts which are a short beach walk (15-20min) away. Walking back at night you are surrounded by beautiful stars. Walking past the other resorts we were very glad we stayed at the Seaside as the Seaside appeared newer, set further apart from each other giving that feeling of being away from it all. Free washing machine available for use. The owner Tearoa is so lovely and welcoming and it was an easy booking process. Highly recommend staying at the Seaside - great value for money and views that are hard to beat!
Not about the property but limited grocery items ie fruit and veggies on Aitutaki
