How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was no lift so we had to ask the staff to help carry our suitcases up to the second floor. There was no help carrying them down the next morning. There was loud music coming from the bar below until after midnight. At 9 am we had a knock on the door to remind us check out was 9 am.

This place has check-out time 9:00, which is very strange. We accidentally had booked just one person and ended up paying more than 20€ extra compared to normal two person price on booking. Room was also very hot without any a/c nor even cross-draught possibility. When window had to be open there was much noise from church just few tens of meters away ringing bells all night long. Price-quality ratio was extremely poor.
Hello, it's unbelievable that you're giving such an unfair review. I gave you the same price as on booking.com for 2 people, which is absolutely correct! Besides, it's high season 😔 the church belongs in the village, and we have absolutely nothing to do with it (I really don't understand). We're at a loss for words, this isn't fair! The Zak Team and Irene ps.. look for the future a xpencive 5 Star Hotel with all the comfort but you have to pay much more !!! That is realy not fair

Loud pub underneath, smell of smoke everywhere, awful beds. I booked a private double room and it wasn’t worth the money at all even if it is in Switzerland. I’d recommend to pay a little bit extra and get a hotel.

Verified reviewLot of restaurants around and very nearby and walkable to station and Rheinfalls, complimentary drinks and friendly staffs tried to speak in English. Spacious room and nice shower.
Nighttime little noisy because of nightlife however I was quite tired after too much walking or hiking. No lift. The lobby stinked smoking smell.

All of the Staff..were great...and happy,.no frowning..helpful and responsive....Ms. Irène Tanner, the manager was Beautiful to say the least...Kind and Professional....and Helen greeted me when I arrived with great assistance and kindness... The room and bathroom was the largest room that I have had in Europe in this price range....Very Clean...The online pictures are accurate... The location is a beautiful 10 minute walk to Rhine Falls. The Bus lines that service Schaufhausen and the surrounding areas and the Main Train Station literally stop right across the street....The COOP Supe rmarket (great supermarket) and the Post Office are 1 block away...Also, the Train stop Neuhausen is about 7 blocks away so when you check out and if you are traveling light, you can walk there and hop on the Trainline..and bust a move... This little Hotel is perfect for the price and location if you coming to Schaufhausen while touring Switzerland on a budget and time sensitive. I'm here for a month trying to absorb enough to make the next trip to Switzerland focused and yet more expansive. This stay was a Great Deal!
I don't have any dislikes...🤔...No...I can't think of any.... I would definitely stay here again...It is kind of like a Home Away from Home...The personalities made it so!
