The room is located at a very high altitude. With my luggage I had to trek that distance. May be a better communication on the route provided would have done better. Lifts are also missing may be u can attach one to shift luggage.

It was a nice room and the view of the north face from the room was really nice. Met some nice people in the room whom I had good interaction with.

Really, no complaints. The location was maybe a little inconvenient, but not too bad. The bus stop was just down the street so it was really easy to get to town and back, or a 20 min walk.

This hostel was very clean and beautifully kept. The facilities were very nice with lots of areas to hang out.

Staff was a little non-cooperative wrt luggage issues, check-in times etc. Also, I didn't like the location of the hotel as getting there on foot with luggage is a nightmare!

Beautiful room, only the wooden floor creaks a lot, washrooms were quite clean and accessible. Breakfast spread was good. Hotel offers a good scenic view.

Location. Its high up on the hills and the bus going there finishes really early like before 7pm. We worked up with our backpacks and luggage it was agonizing... Don't recommend to anyone. But getting a taxi up is 35chf... The food They provide was affordable But a bit horrible...

The view was awesome.great staff working till 9pm. They have a canteen providing affordable food. Have laundry. Luggage storage. Clean. Great breakky.

Super clean and efficient. Fair warning its a little hike straight uphill from the train station unless you grab a bus or taxi. This was a great warm up in the mornings, not so pleasant in the evenings after hiking all day and the buses stop early to this point. We stayed in the new building in a family room with 2 sets of bunks and everything was super clean with a great mountain view. Downside was minimal airflow and no fans. You will have to rent towels for 12chf and a 40chf deposit if you don't have your own. You will also need coins if you want to use the laundry or want to lock the lockers. Breakfast was great and they do have dinner options though we ate in town.

A very traditional youth hostel, set back from the centre of Grindelwald so you truly feel like you are in nature. Stunning views of the mountains from the terrace and the rooms - if you are looking for a quiet hostel where you can sit and embrace and admire the beautiful Swiss landscape then this is it. Three things to mention which were different from many other youth hostels: (1) there wasn't a separate plug socket for each bed in the dorms. Not an issue for me but this may bother some people. (2) WiFi worked perfectly well 90% of the time but did drop out on occasion. (3) there is not a kitchen (but they do have a fridge you could keep items in). Also... The hostel is set back from Grindelwald and it is a STEEP slope to walk there. I managed to do this with my rucksack the first night but after that did get the bus each day. So at times it felt like I was working around the bus timetable. Overall however - a great stay in a secluded, quiet hostel, where I felt away from the tourist drag of Grindelwald and was very happy to have stayed there.

The location is on top of a steep hill and if you have luggage, it is challenging to reach. Best to wait for a bus.

The quality of the food for breakfast and dinner was very good. Great value for this region. Staff are very helpful. The shared bathrooms were very clean at all times. Overall, we had a great stay.

Gorgeous views over the mountains, a little out the way of the busy village but can just get the 122 bus to it. Lovely simple breakfast. I never had the dinners but looked good for the price!
