Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EcuadorParking discount was minimal and only good for 24 hours of parking (no discount if you go in and out).
Location near the train station was very convenient, although parking was quite expensive. Breakfast was great and the room was comfortable. Very decent place to stay! Price was higher, but it is Switzerland, so that is quite normal. Staff were very kind and helpful!

LuxembourgThe beds in our room were too soft. The HVAC seemed a bit old and made some rattling noises at night which could be bothering for some guests (even when turned off).
The hotel is surrounded by many shops and cannot be closer to the train station. Parking at the station was very easy and costs 30 CHF for durations between 11h and 24h (incl. hotel discount).

United KingdomOn the bathroom ceiling, above the bath there was a yellow stain caused by a water leak at some point. Although it looked unsightly it wasn't causing a problem. It's something that could easily be remedied and I will bring it to their attention.
We have stayed at this hotel four times over the past year and it has never disappointed us. Its location is so central - right on top of everything. On this occasion our room overlooked the railway station which was not a problem. When we closed the window we did not hear a sound from the station - it was amazing. The breakfast room is located at the rear of the hotel overlooking the garden, so you have a pleasant outlook while eating your breakfast. There is a wide choice of food available, so there is something for everyone.

IsraelThe location is very good for those who want to sleep close to the airport. The hotel is right on the train and from there it takes 10 minutes till you're in the airport. Also center of Winterthur is just across the train.

SpainThe pillows are too soft.
The hotel is situated right outside the train station in a quiet area. The room was a good size, clean and soundproof. Beds were comfortable. There was a good selection of food at breakfast. The breakfast room had been updated since we stayed here a couple of years ago. There are plenty restaurants nearby and the sights of Winterthur can be explored on foot.

United KingdomNo night porter. One couple left their keys in their rooms and had to squeeze in with the rest of the family for one night. Also I am fairly sure that we were only given 2 superior double rooms instead of 4. Maybe that could be investigated by you?
Really good proximity to trail stations

SwitzerlandI stayed at this hotel in a single room, wanted to get a late checkout. I went to the reception but the woman at the front desk immediately told me that the hotel was fully booked. She didn't check anything. I opened Booking.com and saw that two single rooms in the same category were still available. I showed her this but she kept insisting their system showed no availability. So I went ahead and booked the room through the app and received immediate confirmation. She told me I would probably have to move to another room because mine was already assigned to someone else. She offered me a room with a garden view, even though my new booking included a city view—exactly the same as my original room. I pointed this out, and in the end, they let me stay in my current room. I don't know why all of that were need. I ended up paying extra night though I was ready to pay extra for late checkout. It was a frustrating experience. It felt like the staff member simply didn’t want to make an effort. While the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast good, this interaction left a negative impression overall.
Location is perfect, the hotel is located right after the Train station. 3 minutes to the City center, literally just cross the underground way and you are in the city center. The breakfast was somewhat limited, there weren't any hot meat like sausages or meat balls, only cold ham. The coffee from freshly ground beans are always accessible during the day and night.

New ZealandThere was no central lighting and apart from a lamp beside the bed, there was no lighting in the bedroom. So I found it quite dark.

United StatesLittle difficult to find. The name of the hotel isn't on the actual entrance. It is on the building but there are other businesses on the bottom. There is a "Hotel Entrance" sign, but when we entered there was another hotel name (advertisement) on the board and so we thought we were in the wrong place. Little mix-up but no big deal.
Location- right across the street from the train station. Even though our room faced the train station, it was quiet. We had to leave before breakfast, but the 24 hour coffee station was nice. Simple but clean hotel.

United KingdomThe shower cubicle was poorly designed with a gap underneath meaning the bathroom floor quickly flooded if you weren’t careful - meant had to keep turning water on/off.
Very comfy beds and large room and good breakfast selection that was regularly topped up. 1 minute from station Check in wasn’t until 3 but we were able to leave our luggage for a few hours on day of check in

SpainBed was not super comfortable for me (not hard enough plastic cover on the mattress, horrible pillows - I'm used to ergonomic pillows). Carpet on the floor
Perfect location next to the station and city centre. That was super easy. Ladies at reception were very friendly and willing to help. Bad thing is that reception closes very early, but this is known and hence all is OK as you can enter and go without issues. Although I did not use this, check-in is possible even outside front desk hours as they prepare your key. So just to know, but all is perfectly arranged. The room had a European plug so that was convenient. Still hotel also lent me an adapter. AC worked fine and silently (and it was a really hot day). Breakfast is not a full buffet but restricted choices, but as I was only there for 2 nights it was good (fresh fruits, fresh orange juice, cheese, meat cuts, marmalade, different breads, eggs, yogurt etc) Room was very spacious

Lovely breakfast and a very smart and modern room. View of the back of the station! You can nip through the station to the main bit of Winterthur, but the area around the hotel is nice too.
