We had to ask repeatedly for towels (we didn’t have any in our bathroom when we arrived). The property is a bit far out from the rest of town so it was challenging to find a place to have dinner nearby since we didn’t want to eat at the hotel. We had trouble getting the bartender to take our drink order at the bar- we waited over half an hour before eventually giving up and going back to our rooms.

The spa is amazing! We could have stayed there all day. The entire property is really beautiful and the rooms were very spacious. The breakfast was absolutely incredible and had so many different offerings.

The rooms did not correspond to the photo shown when booking. The bathrooms were extremely dated and the showers and sink very uncomfortable and small. The veranda was dirty and full of cobwebs. When confronted , the response of the hotel was that each room is different. The spa area did not have a reception with clean towels and the floors were constantly wet. The most annoying part was when we went down to breakfast we were not allowed to sit wherever we wanted but our table was preset by the staff - we asked to sit by the window the following morning and when we went down we were again given a table without a view.

Beautiful setting, lovely common areas and relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent and its restaurant across the road Ruedihaus was fantastic with very friendly staff.

It's a bit of a walk if you don't have a car but still doable.

I loved this hotel. The room was relatively basic but the view, spa and restaurant made it a real treat to stay in. The staff were also very nice and helpful.

If I had to mention one area for improvement, it would be the breakfast: it didn’t quite match the otherwise excellent level of the hotel. With some attention there, this place would easily be outstanding.

I stayed at Waldhotel Doldenhorn for just one night during a business trip, but I was truly impressed. The location is simply stunning — I absolutely love Kandersteg, and this hotel captures its charm perfectly. The property is elegant and welcoming, with a peaceful atmosphere and attentive service. Everything met my expectations of a high-standard hotel. I look forward to coming back — next time, for a proper vacation!

The room rate is for 1 person. If you have 2 people in the room the price goes up. Watch your head, the hallway to the elevator is about 6 feet tall in one area.

The amenities are excellent. They are not advertised as they should be. They have an excellent pool, spa, sauna, and much more. I was so happy to discover these amenities. Additionally, the resort is located next to a trailhead that takes you to amazing trails that lead to multiple mountain huts, which have restaurants. The view from the front of the hotel is of waterfalls fed by glaciers. Car service to anywhere in town. The entire experience was amazing. I can't recommend this place enough.

If you are on Foote, it’s a bit of a trek into town. Whilst we were there at the hotel wasn’t very full, and it did feel a little eerie. The decor in parts of the hotel was a little worn.

This is a huge hotel, with an enormous bar, and spacious spa area. Our room was enormous. The staff were very friendly. The surrounding area is stunning, and you are in a great location for walking. The hotel is dog friendly.

The booking with your website Booking.com. It was the second time I booked a room with a bathtub and when I did the check-in there was no bathtub in the room.

I wasn’t impressed by the breakfast buffet. It could have more veggie friendly and frag options like fruit salad and cut raw veggies. The fitness area could have weights not only cardio (you get that in while hiking).

The location is stunning. It’s surrounded by the mountains, hiking trails start right behind the property. It’s all very woody and spacious. The staff is outstandingly friendly and like I said in the title I have never felt my dog so welcomed. They even made a reservation for me and her at the restaurant (whereas most places don’t allow dogs in the restaurants). That‘s the main reason for the high rating. The dinner menu was exquisite. I also enjoyed their saunas.

The breakfast was very basic and poor quality Vs. the high price for the room. No fresh juices, only basic ones. Only soy and no other non-dairy drinks available. 15 minutes waiting for the boiled eggs. Not even a toaster available in the breakfast room. This is not what we would expect from a Relais & Chateaux. The room is ok, but nothing special really. No bath tub, only a shower.

No blackout curtains or blinds to the room, not enough lighting in the main room. The bed topper is a cheap foam. It took 40 minutes for our egg dishes to arrive one breakfast morning, the cheese looked as though it had been out for 3 weeks and the cofee was cold.

No transport to hotel no bus no taxis. We had no phones as our provider did not work in Switzerland. We walked to a shop and asked them to call the hotel and they sent the car. Maybe this could have been pre arranged in a clearer way. Hotel closed reception till 7.00am and we had a train to catch at 7.15 thank god the lady started earlier and was able to take payment and also drive us to the station. We booked supper when we got there for 8.30pm and reception just said ok, when we get to the restaurant they hand us a snack menu because restaurant closed at 8.30 which we should have been informed about. After my complaint they allowed the full menu but the food was under par im afraid. Our dessert was burnt and after 40mins waiting for them to apparently cook a new one they tell ne they cant donit so brought me a bowl of icecream 😂 anyway felt like we were in a faulty towers episode. Also very bad wifi from hotel

It begins with a door hinge that should be fixed, goes over to the pool that is nice but would need some more attention, to the missing towels in the Spa area, to the extremely long wait for food from the kitchen, to unfriendly and overworked waiters. Nice would be if I could speak my native language in my home country with people who work there from foreign countries. We had to adjust to them by speaking English or French to be understood. It was these things and other small details which makes me say it was "OK" but not superb. The quality of the food was great (and expensive).... if you received the dishes you ordered. I will leave out the details of the dispute my wife and I had with one of the servers. We complained to management and we hope they take the necessary steps to correct the situation.

Our 4 day stay at this hotel was .... full of contradictions. On one hand the hotel is nice and the location is great. Although we have stayed in other places in the same category that were better. The front desk was very friendly and competent.
