We truly had a super pleasant stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and everything the house had to offer. Carla was a wonderful host who was attentive throughout.

Shared bathroom

The hotel is a charming villa converted into guest accommodations, conveniently located within walking distance of the train station. The hostess was welcoming and kind throughout our stay. One unexpected detail was that three rooms shared a single bathroom. The hostess explained that this was noted in the listing, but unfortunately, my daughter and I had overlooked it—perhaps it was in fine print. While sharing the bathroom wasn’t a major issue, one evening a fellow guest occupied it for nearly an hour, which made it difficult even to use the toilet. Thankfully, the hostess kindly allowed us to use a private restroom that evening. Despite the surprise, we had a good overall experience, and appreciated both the location and the warm hospitality.

I didn’t pay attention when reserving: there’s no en-suite bathroom in the room. It was ok though, only 3 guests shared the bathroom, and it was very clean.

Amazing place, nicely decorated , calm, right next ( 3 minutes by walk) to Piazza Grande. Carla is an exceptional host, helpful beyond expectation!

This property is above and beyond. Great decor, very clean and comfortable, close to beautiful main centre and easy walk to lake. The host is very kind and accommodating. I will definitely stay here again.

The location was near to the centre of the town and yet in a quiet street. A large room in a beautiful home. The owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Super friendly host. Outstanding location in the heart of Locarno; Piazza Grande, lake side, and train station within <10 min walking distance. Comfy bed and nice room with water cooker, tea, and coffee machine. The bathroom is shared between 3 rooms and it is very modern, spacious and clean. Hair dryer is also available. Breakfast met all our needs with bread, boiled eggs, fruit salad, a variety of jams and cereals, and coffee. When the weather is nice, breakfast is served outside on the terrace in a relaxed atmosphere. We had a great time and will come back to stay there anytime we travel to Locarno in the future.

Villa d’Arte was an excellent B&B that we can recommend highly to anyone visiting Locarno. The villa is very well located in the city center and is lovingly decorated with beautiful and unique art pieces. The rooms are beautiful and clean, all the amenities we needed were provided as well. Carla was a wonderful hostess who not only prepared a delicious breakfast for us each morning, but also took the time to give us tips and recommendations for the area. Her dogs Blu and Arte, two very sweet Italian greyhounds, were the cherry on top! Thank you for your hospitality Carla, it was a pleasure to stay with you.

I didn’t realize until it was brought to my attention at checkout that the city tax was collected separately from the fees paid online (I received a note “all fees collected by Booking.com” and only the finer print noted the below). I was unfortunately pressed for time to make a train and did not have time to get cash, so be aware of this on checking in.

Very well located, extremely clean and comfortable villa. Shared washroom but it was extremely clean and I did not have any problems with the washroom.

2 best things: good location (easy walking distance to the train, and very close to the old town, and in a lovely location). And our host was kind and generous and interesting. The property is very distinctive: a beautiful building, and thoughtfully and carefully presented, and there are a lot of art works everywhere. My partner and I were just passing through, but would love to have stayed longer.

This cozy villa is located very close to the city centre, we could park the car right infront of the house during the night for free. The host is very friendly and gave us tips onto what to visit near Locarno. We had a lovely homemade breakfast, the room was clean and had everything we needed!

The place is a true gem. We booked all three rooms, so the entire floor was ours - which made it feel very much like sharing a home. Carla, the owner, is very attentive and didn't just cater to our needs but went above and beyond when we had special requests. A bonus if you like dogs is you get to hang out with hers. The place itself is very stylish with lots of art to contemplate and a nice vibe between traditional and modern. It's a stone-throw from the Piazza Grande, but nights were quiet and peaceful (even on weekend). A truly unique place, much more personal and special than any large hotel complex these cities offer nowadays. I can recommend it for a family or a group of friends who want to have a central hideaway that feels like a home with extra perks.
