How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We were first accomodated in a room that smelled like sewage and which was right above the kitchen. We soon noticed that all the kitchen odors would always be present in our bathroom and our dressing room. They tried to “fix” it when we complained, but obvioisly with no success, as things remained the same from this point of view. On the 1st of january, after 3 nights in that infamous first room,which included being woken up by some delivery truck that was making all sorts of noises right in front of our room on the 31st of december for 3 hours, they moved us to a bigger room in another wing of the hotel. We therefore spent 2 hours of our time of the first day of the year packing our suitcases to move to another room. At first it seemed an improvement, but we soon began to sense the same smell of food coming into this new room, which was unbelievable. Another unbelievable thing which we realised only too late was that they completely turned off the ventilation in the bathrooms of this new room, which is close to a health hazard in our opinion, since there were no accesible windows in any of the 3 bathrooms this new room had, only veluxes that were too high to be reached without some form of aid. Another horrible thing was that at approximately 2:30 in the morning on the 3rd of january, as well as on the 5th of january at approximately the same hour, we were woken up by some other “guests” that were partying next door with loud music and all sorts of screaming, yelling and banging noises that ruined our nights, even though they were indeed stopped by the hotel staff after complaining. These being said, instead of a relaxing and joyful end of 2024/beginning of 2025, we were subjected to various forms of stress through horrible smells and odors, as well as a lot of wasted time.

I regret that, despite these efforts, you continued to experience disturbances related to odors and noise. These actions, implemented specifically for your comfort, reflect our sincere desire to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Verified reviewThe staff were great and very attentive. I love the intimacy of the hotel. Was very impressed with the breakfast. Pastries and bread were wonderful and presentation was also good until I asked for scrambled eggs and were served to me in a cereal bowl. Was a bit disappointed with the Eggs Benedict served without ham, but for the most part it was lovely. I will come back again.
We had a two bedroom suite and it was beautiful if not a bit strange that the Main Bedroom had no real storage or closet and had to leave the room for the closet in the entrance hall. Great coffee set up although there was no cream provided. This is Switzerland and most Swiss drink cream in their coffee. When we asked at reception for it, we were told we had to ask housekeeping the next day. For that price point, it wouldn’t have been difficult for someone to go get some cream. There was a beautiful mirror in the bathroom. The bathroom is beautiful, but there was a problem for me. I am 5Ft 2in. The large mirror has a mirrored frame on it. It was impossible for me to use it as my face barely fit inside of the two panels and I am too short to see over the frame. Although it is beautiful, it is not practical. Too often, hotels cater to the needs of men more than women and this is one of those times. There is a stand alone make up mirror provided, but it is magnified and must bend down to use it. Again, not practical.

It is a pleasure to note that you were blessed about my staff who indeed is very attentive to all the details to surprise our guests all along the way. I understand that our "à la carte" breakfast was your favorite and I will pass the word on to my teams in the kitchen. In fact, we serve our scrambled eggs in small containers, bowls, to help them hold up. Eggs Benedict are originally served with a Hollandaise sauce, ham or salmon are added extra depending on preference. For our Family Suites, we wanted them to have their own dedicated dressing room as an entire space to fit all our guest's luggage, I am sorry to hear that you found this restrictive. Regarding the cream for your coffee, the way in which your request was handled in no way reflects the quality of service that we advocate and I have therefore passed this information on to my teams. Indeed, the layout of our bathrooms is quite high and I am sorry that this was not practical for you.
