Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandCommunication is really bad. There is no staff on site, just a chat bot to talk to. We had issues with our key and these were not solve, so we could basically not lock the room. Also, the breakfast was not available as the restaurant had closed permanently the day we arrived. We were not informed about that. After requesting it and various back and forth, we were sent the Arosa Card a few hours before the official check in time, so we could use it on the day, this should be done by default, receiving it at 16:00 (check in time) is useless.. A kettle in room would be nice..
The room is very comfortable and clean, the view excellent.

United KingdomOh gosh, I really missed a kettle!! A morning cuppa on the balcony would have been delightful.
What an amazing experience! This was the most fabulous hotel room we have ever stayed in, and the pop-up meant it was affordable. The rooms and balcony were great, alpine views from some kind of fantasy and even a telescope. We didn't even know about the Observatory lounge with a pool table, games and a (baby) grand piano, and amazing view and the sound of cowbells, pretty perfect. You also get an Arosa Card which means the cable cars which you can see from the hotel, are free, along with the scenic railway, pedaloes on the lake and all sorts of other discounts (we did the high ropes course for CHF 8). It's such a shame that the hotel is due for a complete refurb, I really hope it just gets a gentle touch. The retro fittings with wood and marble galore could so easily be part of the appeal. Visit while you can!

RussiaAll was cool. Especially if you know you are coming to the unstaffed hotel and set right expectations.
It's basically a five star hotel without staff. Which I found even better. I'm not sure what renovation they are referring to, the hotel looks good and there are no sign of construction works. The interior is like you are in a movie. It's a rare chance to have an opportunity to visit this hotel at such a price. And the location is also great. Carpe diem! As the prices go up in mid July when I wanted to go there once again. By the way, do not spend money on the parking right near, it's a complicated parking via web interface with high prices. 100m down the road there is a covered parking for 6 franks per day.

United StatesNo AC. Pull out sofabed had no sheets and the one in closet didn’t fit. 30 min uphill walk from train station, although there is a bus.
Ample room, plenty of closet space, nice view, relatively modern. Zero interaction with staff via web check in.

United StatesWe wanted hot water, but the self serve coffee and tea bar is no longer offered. It would have made a difference to have an electric tea kettle available. The sleeper bed is really not usable for an adult. My 31 year old son ended up sleeping on the floor.
Beautiful location with a stunning view from the balcony. Although an hour away from Chur, it was worth the additional travel. Great price, although the chair lifts weren’t operational yet and we did not receive an Arosa pass. Loved the decades music (1920s) when we arrived, but they stopped playing it.

SwitzerlandParking Parking is a concern as its not marked properly where hotel guests can park their car. Arosa card Unfortuantely we received the Arosa card at 18.30hr by email in the evening mentioning a lot of activities are free with Arosa card. This card should be sent earlier at the start of the checkin day at 07.00hr, so we can plan the day well. We had paid for activities like the cable car and rope park from our pocket. It seems the Arosa card date validity is only on the check-in day. So please give the card to guest in the early morning. Otherwise the attractiveness of the region and experience is completely lost.
Everything was superb. Experience is truly worth regarding a star hotel without so many people working in the hotel. The pop-up really works super good. The luxury is intact and wonderfully maintained and self-served to you as a surprise. Go and check-in to find it yourself.

Very beautiful vintage hotel. Long mountain road to the town. Something similar with the Overlook Hotel where Jack stayed with his family. Hotel was clean and the presidential suite was luxurious and had very nice view and still with a low price. The town of Arosa seemed quite dead off season.

Switzerlandall good if you read and set your expectations to a SELF CHECK IN HOTEL!:)
formally a rather outdated 5* hotel and now a fresh & cozy pop-up hotel offering a fresh look, a lot of space for playing games, working or just having a read, coffee & tea cooker, a 24/7 chat with staff and the unchanged rooms of the former 5* hotel but at a low price! the location is great.

SpainThe room was nice, BUT : 1. Check in is like a quest - takes forever, you have to fill up several pages, entrance to the room only after you scan, get the code, put the code - very inconvenient! 2. CHECK OUT IS AT 9 am!!! I don’t know if this is even legal, but 9 am is brutal! you’re supposed to rest in the hotel but at 9am housekeeping is already knocking your door to get out! 3. We booked 2 rooms, but received all these links/codes etc only for 1. I took us a while to figure out how to get into the other room. 4. We also booked large double bed and got 2 single ones even though the hotel was empty, so they could have been more attentive. I mean view is nice, but doesn’t worth all this!

AustraliaThe curtains could have been thicker to block the light better.
This hotel is a very cool experience, it’s an adventure in itself as you can explore all the different areas. There’s a kettle, tea bags and coffee machine at the bar in the foyer to make yourself tea/coffee any time you need, and multiple washing machines and dryers that are free to use on level 1. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious with a good shower. There was also a bar fridge in the room. There’s lots of lovely areas to hang out on the ground floor, including a pool table and board games with views of the mountains. There’s also kids club area with toys and a ball pit. Although no staff physically present, any time I had questions they were quick to respond on WhatsApp.
