Breakfast sometimes looks tired if you arrive after 9:30 and the kitchen staff overly keen to clear away by 9:45 on weekdays for the 10am deadline! They did apologise however and offer to scramble some more eggs!

The new lobby and upgrades to hotel lounge were excellent. New drink stations makes the rooms more spacious - nice extras with Yoga mat, rucksack and free bikes for hire which made our stay perfect to explore.

Only one thing I can think of: I arrived on Saturday and on Sunday I was very very happy to find butterzopf (a Swiss braided bread) served for breakfast. I was looking forward to having it again on Monday morning but apparently it was only served on Sundays. Breakfast was still very nice but I missed the zopf!

I had stayed at Hotel Speer a number of times before, many years ago, when it used to be a Best Western Hotel. Many years later I wanted to stay in Rapperswil again and saw that it had become a Sorell Hotel. The entire hotel has been renovated, and it will definitely be the first place I will check out on my next visit to Zurich. The rooms are great; the service was wonderful. Breakfast was superb. Rapperswil is my favorite place in Switzerland, and the hotel is literally right across the street from the Rapperswil train station, so location-wise it can't get better than this! Wonderful staff, very kind and helpful.

Communication between the on-site (but admittedly independent) restaurant and the hotel front desk is not good.

The hotel has been renovated recently, so the room was modern and comfortable. The toilet was very high-end, with shower function. Breakfast was very good.

We really appreciated the receptionist going out of his way to get us a quiet room. Fantastic location across the road from station and round the corner from lake front. Delicious breakfast with lovely man serving it. loved the garden to sit out in. Some free drinks and (paid for) snack available. Highly recommended.

- I had a Standard Twin Room but the bedroom size felt somewhat smaller (more like 15m2 rather than 23m2) - Basic room (no in-room coffee/tea maker facility) - Only centralized air circulation, which was ok for us in May - Bathroom is a little dim but toiletries are good - I informed the hotel that I'll be travelling with a 2-year-old toddler but they didn't prepare the room with any toys or amenities for kids, which was my disappointment for Sorells. Nevertheless, the hotel nicely contacted me prior to arrival whether a cot needs to be prepared, which I didn't need.

Unclear car access instructions about where to park (paid parking)..wished the hotel showed customers the map to approach. We had to go around the blocks few times. Rooms very small.

Location is perfect. Stayed only 1 night on transit, managed to enjoy sunset evening walk around the Castle and water front. Lots of eating options near by. Staff friendly, accommodated our requests to supply electric kettle to our rooms.

Unfortunately we stay during reconstruction, so there was noise a little bit earlier than expected.

Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice, but little bit less choice than expected. Location is really good, in the city center, just across the main train station. Garage in the vicinity of the hotel, with access only for the hotel guests.

We got woken up at 8 by builders Renovating the room above us then at 9 with drills and this on a Saturday, they should really inform you when you book because we would have stayed somewhere else.

My room was at the end of the corridor and WIFI was not strong enough. I was given a LAN cable but this connection did not work.

Hotel is located just opposite the train station and next to the touristic area with many restaurants and nice atmosphere . Room was nice with double bed. Breakfast was very nice with good varaiety of things to choose from.

Not meant as complaint since we knew all of this in advance and it's all not really important: no on-site parking - the parking garage with places reserved for the hotel is a short walk away; no walk-in shower, but in bathtub (good anti-slip though, so safe enough); road in front quite busy; and high prices although justifiable in this area.

Staff at reception desk super friendly and committed, room very comfortable, beds were super. We had a room at the quiet side of the hotel which was great, since the road in front can be quite busy. On-site "general Asian food" restaurant is very convenient and offers a broad selection, good quality, nice place. Overall, a very pleasant place to stay in the old centre of a beautiful town, at a stone's trow distance from where the boats depart.

I made a tea with the coffee machine in the room, there was some water left in the plastic container at the back of the machine. This container must have a crack or something because when I got up in the morning the desk was full of water. I also couldn't make any of the foreign tv channels work. I also wasn't aware that, as a guest, I had access to a nearby gym. A colleague told me this information was in the website but it would be a nice idea to have that explained as well during check in.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, so close to the old town. the lake and to bars and restaurants. The train station is front is a big bonus as well. Very nice and helpful staff. A very nice choice during breakfast.

The room had no toiletries or tea/coffee making facilities but these were provided after being pointed out to the desk staff. The beds were good but the pillows were not very comfortable and the TV lacked channels in anything other than German (except for 1 or 2).

The room was immaculate ( in almost new condition). Breakfast was very good and the buffet had a good selection of hot food, breads, cheese, meat, juices etc. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent location.
