There was just one USB port in the bunk and the beds were a bit noisy, as they’re wooden, - but those are just tiny things which didn’t particularly affect my stay!

The wooden frame shared beds made some noise every time someone moved. The hostel has earplugs available so it was helpful in my case of a light sleeper. For the shared bathroom maybe an additional shelf in the shower cabinet to put stuffs would be appreciated. The hostel's entrance is next to the motorway.

Beautiful modern design hostel. Shared bathrooms were clean. Staffs were helpful and friendly and they spoke English fluently. The location of the hostel is 20 mins bus ride from the city hall. I think it's great for the end of the day to be in the back garden with much less people.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable and squeaky. And one night a man checked into our room (female only dorm). He was accidentally allocated to the room. He kindly left when he realised. It happens!

The breakfast is healthy, fresh, tasty and amazing. The location is wonderful and the facilities themselves - converted silo - were super cool. I want to go back.

Location is a bit far from businesses. They do not have staff 24 h, last shift ends at 7 PM and so the common room closes at that time, which is a bit early for a hotel during summertime.

The room was really spacious and so were the bathrooms. Super super clean, up to swiss standards. The towels are included, which is great for people that travel light. Bathroom also had some shareable toiletries just in case you forgot something. There are two common rooms to hang out with fridge and kettle for your use. Breakfast is great and fresh. They include a free pass for buses and trams which is really convenient. Plus the staff is really helpful (they were very patient with me on my checkout day).

It was too bad we stayed only one night

My friend and I shared a double room which looked exactly like a hotel room. The girl at the reception was very helpful, she gave us recommendations, waterproof bags for swimming in the Rhine and some fruits for the next morning as we needed to leave very early to catch the flight.

Perhaps more horizontal surface for packing. More stools to sit on to sit and put shoes on. Usb charging outlet at bed was slow speed. Privacy/black out curtain for the bunks an added plus.

Loved the concept of mixed use of building for hostel, architects office and meeting rooms. Architecture was great.4 bed room had plenty of room and good storage for each occupant. Easy check in and beforehand so city card available. Staff very welcoming and helpful about the city by volunteering info without being asked.

The only minus point is the distance from the center by foot but there is a bus next to the place.

What a wonderful, modern yet cozy place! The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable, the garden and terrace were very nice, the breakfast was delicious with amazing bread and lots of sweet and veggie options! We received a Basel card with plenty of discounts and the staff was super friendly. The self check-in /check-out with a tablet was easy to use. If I visit Basel again, I will for sure be back here!

I was a bit unlucky with my roomie because it snored a lot. but this is not the hostel's fault. Nothing to complain about them. At all.

The breakfast was with high quality and healthy. The whole building was brand new and the beds were comfy. Self check-in can be a life saver.

Bottom bunks feel too close to the ground. Literally next to the floor. The partitions are very useful for privacy but I was under the impression they were rolling left and right and provide full privacy,like having your own pod. Probably a mistake on my part. Lighting was huge, only one big lamp in the room. Individual lights at each bed provided but don't really help. Somebody entering the room late, won't reach them easily Lastly, a disinfectant product for guests to use in the toilet whould be a good idea

At first, the fully self-service check-in was a bit confusing, and there was no staff around in the evening, which felt unusual. But in the end, it actually added to the sense of privacy and calm, which I really appreciated.

Silo Hostel was amazing—very clean with a modern design. I really love the idea of turning an old industrial building into something new and useful. The organic breakfast was delicious, and it was great to get the Basel Card included as a guest. Highly recommend!

I arrived late, and felt stuck nobody responded to me despite alerting the facility earlier that I would be late. I was disappointed The coffee was weakly made, I didn't enjoy my brew. But inhage to say the first two days it was perfectly made. Not strong enough for an Americano especially if you are only allowed one cup for breakfast.

Great location and good value for money. I was impressed with the accommodation in general.

The hostel is a bit far from the city center. But it’s not a real issue since the neighbourhood is great and kids friendly.

We had a great stay at Silo Hostel. The building is amazing, rooms are confortable and the breakfast was delicious. We would be happy to come back !
