Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

whole place needs to be updated, mostly the bed.
Farily good location but since we didnt know the city we didnt realize it was on the outskirts of town. We made it work and enjoyed the tram.

It is in the basement and different from the picture No ventilation for the toilet Church is exactly beside and could not sleep well because of the bells every hour even in midnight and late night

In the entrance hallway, there should be a sign indicating where the room is located and how it is labeled. It was not possible to properly close the window in the room. A small kitchen for the building with a microwave or at least a kettle in the room would help.
Good access to public transport, good accessibility to the center, reasonable price.

It took me awhile to get to the right room. I mistakenly opened a couple of other rooms and surprisingly the occupants did not lock their doors. The room also felt bit too dark and I didn't trust that the towels are clean.
The price is budget friendly.

They should really consider installing lighting on downstairs area. It's so dark you need to use the torch on your phone. Place could do with a bit of refurbishment.

Only thing that let it down was the bed . It was a wooden slade bed and every time you moved it it it make such a loud wood rubbing on wood noise . It was sooooooo loud

Couldn't get the code from keylocker normally - the link wouldn't open. Spent 2 hours at the door - the host did not respond. Figured out to use VPN and managed to get in. Creaky bed, the bell on the temple next door chimes every 15 minutes

I got the basement studio flat. Very overpriced for what I got. The window didn’t close properly. Therefore, it was cold specially at night. Even if there was a big heater, it was not enough to warm up the room and bathroom (which didn’t have any heater). And it was just November. In the room just a small fridge (no kitchen or microwave).

I réserved parking and no information on where to park and I used public parking. No owner details or phone numbers for contact Apartment not cleaned properly - dust remained behind the doors. It’s in the basement and the way to basement is dirty as well.
Easy access and identifiable. Clear instructions for the keys. Comfortable bed.

The room is converted from an underground cellar, with a tiny window and very questionable livability.

There are some few cobwebs but all the same everything is sparkling.Didn’t meet any staff cos it was an easy self check-in.
The property is very good and I will like book it again next time,it’s superb for the price.not far from the central with the tram. I really enjoyed my stay. Am already recommending it to friends.Sure to book it again and again.

It's not that clean, for example you can't really take you shoes off in the room, the window doesn't close totally properly, so you can hear a bit of the noise from the outside (the cars and the church, but not too bad). Also no trash bin.
Switzerland is obviously very expensive, so I think the prize is honestly quite good and the room has everything you need.
