The price was too high for this kind of location of the hotel (looks like a social problem quarter).

The room was quite big, everything was clean, hotel parking in a Garage closed by, very friendly staff. The breakfast was very good. And the hotel Restaurant seems to be good.

There is no air conditioning in the room. If you stay during heatwave period in summer time, be prepare that the room can be a sauna

You could hear the tram noise until late in the night and early in the morning. I'm a light sleeper - if you're not, you may be ok

A few downside: The room didn’t have air conditioning or disposable slippers, but a fan was provided. My bed creaked a bit. Dark room

The hotel room was quite standard. Most of the photos on Booking show rooms that look very bright, but ours felt a bit dark in comparison. It seems that either we were given a darker room, or the photos were slightly enhanced. Since the hotel has many rooms, the one you get might look different from the pictures. On the positive side, everything was clean — fresh linens and towels were provided.

⸻ I had to change the first room we checked into. It was on the second floor with a back view, and although I had booked a room with a large king-size bed, we were given two separate beds instead. The receptionist was kind and offered us a nicer room—smaller than the first one but with a spacious balcony facing the city street. Unfortunately, it still didn’t have a king-size bed. Later that night, just as we were about to sleep, my wife found a cockroach crawling on her body. We were shocked and panicked, as we didn’t expect such a low level of cleanliness. Although we were very upset, we chose not to file a complaint out of consideration for the housekeeping staff. However, I still feel very disappointed with the hotel’s management for allowing this to happen

Compared to other hotels on our 32 night road trip , this hotel didn’t have a good breakfast , it was, in our experience, quite basic and not good value for money. The car parking is in another street and underground which wasn’t too convenient for us with quite a lot of luggage.

Good location for the city. Provided us with Basel Pass which was great for free transport and discounts in museums.

A few minor downsides: the shower stall was quite small, and the doors were tricky to keep closed, causing some water to leak onto the floor. The two twin beds were pushed together rather than having a proper double bed, and the comforter was a bit too warm for the weather.

Stayed for one week during Eurovision. The staff were very friendly—special shoutout to Soraya, you rock! I was upgraded to a larger room with two twin beds and a fridge, which was a nice surprise. The location is fantastic: just a 1-minute walk to a grocery store, 4 minutes to the Congress Center, where the EuroClub and EuroVillage were held, and conveniently next to tram stops. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the Cailler chocolates at reception were a delicious touch.

The window could not be completely closed, so you're experiencing Saturday's night life until very very late.

Friendly and helpful staff, very close to the Messe and the old town at walkable distance. The single room is almost as big as the bathroom, a bit claustrophobic, but it was clean. Bathroom in particular was almost like new and in very good condition. Breakfast choice was very limited, but the scrambled eggs and bacon were more than enough for me. You can ask to leave your luggage if you arrive before 3pm and also when you checkout if you have an evening flight and want to walk around Basel a bit more.

The room was above a busy tram stop with several pubs around, so it is noisy. The room was also adequate size, not too much space to move around.

The bin wasn’t always emptied and not every TV channel worked. Compared to other rooms elsewhere in Europe of this size, it’s relatively expensive but that’s Switzerland

Good location by Claraplatz/Strasse trams and near Messeplatz too - walkable to the river and supermarkets nearby. Clean room and comfortable bed. Toiletries provided and daily housekeeping.

Late night request for support to one member of staff (not one of the always friendly ladies) was rebuffed in a “grumpy” fashion.
