We had lunch and dinner at the hotel and enjoyed the quality of the meals. The view from the terrasse of the hotel and from the room balconies is great. And a stepstone away from town.

no screens on windows and no AC, the room was hot and filled with insects from the open window when we checked in (month of August).

It was impossible to sleep in the room with the summer heat - there was a summer heat wave, but the room seemed to retain heat even after the rain and it was really unbearable - it felt like we were unable to cool the room even with the balcony door open all night. The room decor and bathroom is a bit dated and parking was a challenge at times (with the restaurant guests also using the parking), but everyone is really nice and the location is wonderful.

Breakfast was incredible - such a beautiful view, excellent staff, and the food was really delicious. The views of the lake were amazing and access to the bus line was so easy! The free bus pass will take you all the way into Interlachen or just a few minutes to Thun in the other direction.

There were no intercoms, no electric kettle, no fan or ac. Also the bed mattresses for double bedrooms were all single. All in all very poor service!

Lovely hotel in a great location for exploring Lake Thun and the surrounding area. Just a short walk down the hill to the lake. Can't praise the staff highly enough, lovely friendly people with great customer service, particularly Teresa. We had a village facing room which was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a very large bathroom! My daughter had a lake facing room that had amazing views from the balcony. Breakfast was limited but adequate.

It is a little far form the lake especially if you have to carry many bags uphill in the sunlight. It was summer and the rooms didn’t event had a fan, and an iron in the room is a must in every hotel.

Could do with modernising slightly. Balcony needed a repaint. No tea or coffee facilities (that I could find). Food was very expensive but I’m sure it was good.

It was extremely hot, but that was no fault of the hotel!!

Comfortable rooms, friendly staff and they did a wonderful job of catering for me (gluten and lactose intolerant). The food was delicious.

I think it could do with a little revamp.

We stayed in a junior suite, which essentially is a large space that does not really have much amenities. There is no kettle or coffee machine (they have a shared 'maxi bar' at one floor where you can get a coffee for 3CHF). The room is large but somehow it is just empty, and not a large liveable space which is a pity. Service personnel is friendly and try to be helpful, but for the price you could expect a bit more, i.e. making sure that dietary requirements are met (someone that has a Celiac disease and can not have wheat during the main course, is not suddenly going to get cured for the desert). But overall it was a good experience.

The hotel has a great location a beautiful terrace. We have been to the restaurant a number of times in the past and this time spent the weekend there. I do not think one can find many faults with the location, just gorgeous. It is also uncomplicated to arrive by car, there is onsite parking. The restaurant is well situated and they have quite good food. People are friendly and the hotel/rooms are very clean.

The room could benefit from its own tea/coffee supplies.

Amazing location by the lake Thun with scenic views of the majestic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Central to the arterial city road, good connection with the main city sights and a 5-10 minutes' walk to Lake Thun. Beautiful rooms and the restaurant offered an amazing selection of dishes. The blueberry and lemon ravioli was fabulous-like a bite of summer! Staff were welcoming and friendly. Massive thanks to the Schönbühl Hotel & Restaurant team for making my stay comfortable and lovely.

I didnt like they reduce the heaters on the lastday! It was uncomfortable and the time i realised yhe heaters are reduced its the time to checkout!

A little ways out of town/Thun, which we liked, but free bus pass with tourist discounts is available.

Breakfast was fantastic. Setting was very nice - rural/suburban with a great view of the lake. Lake, beach, and dock is about a 2 block downhill walk. Nice restaurant at the hotel, a few other small restaurants and grocery stores not too far away. Drive into Thun was also quick and easy - like 5 minutes.

We were staying in the annex building and the room wasn’t as new as we had expected. The beds were not the most comfortable.

The room itself is clean and they do housekeeping everyday. The hotel is in a lovely alpine village and the view of the lake is always stunning! Breakfast selection was decent but didn’t change much during our stay.

Lack of air-conditioning as with all the hotels we stayed at across Switzerland, although this one had a table fan which helped a bit. Summers in Switzerland are very warm!

Fantastic location and very nice hotel with amazing views over Lake Thun. Friendly staff, very nice dinner, nice rooms.
