Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaHaving a lift to the upper floors would be a great addition, especially for travelers with luggage, as it would make access much easier.
The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome, and it was great that they were so comfortable communicating in English. The breakfast spread was excellent, with plenty of variety. The location was perfect—right in the center, next to the Lake Luzern with easy access to both the train and bus stations.”

United KingdomThe bathroom and kitchen are very dated. The shower is fiddly and old. It leaks. There were 5 coat hangers for a family of four! The kitchen needs updating.
The location is superb. That made our stay - the balcony is amazing for a coffee or glass of wine looking out over the water and busy road area. Lots of light and very comfy beds and linens. Very spacious. Staff were lovely and helpful

United KingdomWe had to ask for an adapter to make the kettle work. No plugs in kitchen sink or bathroom basin. Only 1 bedroom had any storage. Functional rather than charming but served its purpose.
We stayed in an apartment next to the hotel as this gave the three of us more flexibility. The apartment itself was spacious and well equipped with lake views and small balcony. Great location with buses, shops and tourist options very nearby. Lucerne is a large, noisy city but the apartment had double glazing which was appreciated.

IndiaFantastic location. Very near to the train station, 10 mins walk. Rooms are spacious. Switzerland doesn't have air-conditioning so they provided us with fan and a electric cooler. Staff is very nice and helpful. I had heel pain and needed ice pack. They vacummed a bag of ice and made instant ice pack and gave it to me. Room cleaning, bathroom cleaning were exceptional. All in all, if you are in lucerne, hotel Rebstock is highly recommended.

IrelandWe couldn’t stand up in the shower. It is possible to have a bath alright.
A fabulous location with an amazing view from the balcony. We loved the unusual tiling and art work. We loved that we could walk to all the amenities and tourist attractions. The hotel also provided a swimming/beach kit which included a bag, towels and beach mats. This was a lovely touch and really handy as we swam in the lake nearby. We were upgraded to the balcony room which we also loved.

United StatesParking was full. They directed us to a parking lot that ended up being very expensive. There was loud music from concerts nearby until late night.
Excellent location, close to the water and a lot of attractions. Good value for the location. They stored our luggage until we could check in. They also gave a portable air conditioner for the room.

United Arab EmiratesThere’s no lift facility. It is not advisable for people traveling with luggage. I was traveling with a toddler, so how much ever I try, luggage cannot be minimised beyond a limit. It’s very difficult to carry the luggage up as most of the rooms are in higher floors.
The property is beautiful and comfortable. There was a portable ac/cooler in the room. So, it kind of helped with the weather outside being too warm. They have maintained a centuries old structure (as per them). It really is beautiful to see both from inside and outside. Bus stops are there nearby. Walkable distance to Lucerne station, lion monument and chapel bridge.

FranceIt was not very easy to find and there were stairs to the lift both from the ground floor and from our bedroom on the fifth. The bath towels were very small and there was now here to place wash bags other than on the floor.
It was near the centre of Luzern. The staff were friendly. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent.

United KingdomIt was not a problem for us, but if you have mobility issues I recommend talking to reception before booking as part of the property is very old.
Wonderful individual hotel in a great location to explore Lucerne. Friendly attentive staff and the quickest check-in and check-out procedures! Good choice of items for breakfast including gluten free bread. We visited because we were going to a concert and the amazing KKL centre was within a few minutes walk. Booking the hotel room also provided us with a code for local public transport and discount to some museums. Unlike many places we have visited, the staff followed the hotel instructions about changing the towels (so many ignore my request to leave the towels when hardly used). The bathroom was quirky and individual which was very nice and still equipped with all expected facilities. The bed was very comfortable and a kettle was provided in the room. The restaurant was very good and had local food and drink options.

United KingdomGreat location, a 10 minute walk from the station and close to the lake. Friendly staff, lovely outside area to drink and eat out. Our room was in the historic part of the hotel so full of character and charming, wooden floors meant that you could here people walking around on the floor above, but this didn’t bother us. A stand alone /c unit and a fan kept us cool at night. We ate here one evening and the food was delicious. An excellent breakfast that included scrambled/fried eggs and bacon. Would definitely stay here again, diolch yn fawr!

United KingdomThe occupants in the room above ours liked to walk around alot at night, The floors are creaky and the noise kept us awake for a few hours. Reception only opens at 8.00am, If you need to check out out early it could be a problem.
When you arrive by car you need to get an access code for the car park which is just down the street. Parking to pick up the pass is on a pedestrianised area,so not easy. Our room had a view over the lake, which was very nice, The hotel is very old, so if your expecting a swish modern hotel, you are going to disappointed. Its a lovely building but it does creak quite a bit. There are elevators but we did not use them.
