Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo kettle in the room, however, there was a drinks machine with 24 hour availability.
The location was good and the free transport in Bern city centre was a nice extra. The Coop next door was a bonus as well. The rooftop terrace was also a lovely place to sit.

PolandNo coffe and no electric pot in the room. You may get coffee in the machine in the hall. Unfortunatelly the machine is not in service during breakfast time. If you do not pay for breakfast you do not get coffee which I found "cheap". There are nation where a good breakfast is a coffee and croissant... Fortunatelly hot watter was available all the time.
Convenient parking. Big room with electric blinds.

United KingdomNo problem with having no coffee making in the room as it was available down stairs but a bit odd having no drinking glasses in the room!
Location is very good overlooking the old town - the old town (which is picture postcard stunning) is about 15 mins walk down hill / 20 mins back up (a free bus is available). Very clean comfortable room with arty decor and a sort of minimalist approach. Nice breakfast. Very friendly, patient, helpful staff. View from the roof top bar on the 7th floor is great. Plenty of parking round the back of the hotel. Free coffee with mugs in reception.

Really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms were clean, and check-in and check-out were quick. The staff were genuinely friendly and made us feel very welcome. There are many parking places, that was also fine.

SingaporeThere are rooms in a sub basement that have smaller windows than normal rooms. There are also stairs in this type of room. You will basically take an elevator to the basement, enter your room, and then you will need to climb a few stairs to reach a bed level. I am not sure about details of the room layout, on which level is a bathroom for example. I was so shocked when I opened the door and saw a window and stairs that I immediately closed the door and returned to the reception. I didn’t really entered the room, as it looked so shocking, that I didn’t consider staying in it at all. There are 0 photos of this type of rooms on Booking, which I think is a false advertisement. You need to clearly state if there are obstacles in the room and if the room is not completely over the ground. They initially assigned one of this room to us. After we complained, they moved us to a normal room. The rooms don’t have any amenities except hair dryer and soup/shampoo. No cup for water, no safe box, no mini fridge, nothing really…. It’s all about environment they will say, you can probably request some of these things, but again… they also said the room I complained about is not in a basement…. As it became “normal” for anything else, they just trying to cut expenses and offer you as little as possible for the price you will pay. The room was properly cleaned before our arrival. But daily cleaning was sloppy. They even skipped one day. I didn’t complain as we stayed only 4 nights and entered the perfectly clean room.
The location is great! I really enjoyed the neighbourhood. Restaurants and coffee shops you can find around are so charming. It’s easy to walk to old city centre. It is very close. The hotel will provide you with free public tickets for duration of your stay. Bern is a small city so we walked everywhere. The room size was great.

This was great for one night. We were a bit concerned on arrival re location but actually it was great, the bus stop 9A was right outside and with the Bern Travel card easy as. It was nice being elevated above the city and close to the rose gardens. Dont forget to go up to the roof top bar, the view is awesome. The bed was comfortable, plenty of space.
