Everything about this place is above and beyond amazing especially the staff, so so friendly and helpful, we travelled all through Europe the months before, and this place was so relaxing and peacefull we didnt want to leave.

In early July, we visited Zermatt and stayed at the Hotel National Zermatt for five days. The hotel has an excellent, central yet quiet location, very close to the train station, the Gornergrat Railway, the Sunnegga station, and the bus stop. We had a room with the Matterhorn view. From the balcony we saw beautiful sunrises on the Matterhorn several times. The Gornergrat Railway tracks run just beyond the hotel garden, but the trains didn't bother us because they're quiet and don't run at night. There's one older train that squeals on a curve, but it was more of a curiosity than a nuisance. We learned about it from residents of another part of the hotel and tried to catch a glimpse of it, but we weren't successful. The hotel is a medium-sized property, with large rooms and ample storage space. The beds are comfortable and soft, with a large TV opposite. A nice touch was the bed linen folded into a heart shape every day. The bathroom is well-equipped and large enough for two people. The cleanliness of the rooms and the entire facility deserves special mention. The dining room is spacious, nicely decorated, with soft chairs and seats, and overlooks the garden. The breakfast buffet is varied enough to satisfy the appetite before heading out on excursions. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in every way. It was a very pleasant stay. Thank you! Like everywhere else in Switzerland you pay a lot to eat in house. Either close your eyes or use one of the many Supermarkets that are nearby.

It is a sight to behold to wake up in the morning to see from one’s hotel room window the majestic Matterhorn against a clear blue sky. That was our experience on day 2 at National Zermatt after a little cloud cover moved on overnight. The great service from friendly and responsive staff added to the experience of the Hotel’s superb location close to the funicular and its Matterhorn outlook.

The hotel location is very convenient and the view to the Martterhorn from the balcony is beautiful. The breakfast is wonderful and in house SPA is great for relaxing. The staffs in the reception ware very friendly and very helpful. Especially, the staff- Albano and Antina ware very nice and patience to answers our questions and give detail information for our tours in the area.

Centrally located in Zermatt, close to railway stations, next to Gornergrat track. Room with view on Matterhorn. Very good breakfast. Large clean room. We travelled without children, but got an upgrade to a family room : children can sleep on the upper floor of the room, where you find extra beds and a kind of hammock, excellent for kids. Very good restaurant in the hotel.

The breakfast was outstanding. So many options and fresh to order food. The room was very good size, and the location was AMAZING. 5-minute walk to the middle of town and 10-minute walk to train station. Right across the street from the ski lifts to get on the mountain.
