Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCould use a few extra electricity sockets. The only socket near the bed was next to my head, in the middle of the bed.
Newly build rooms, very comfortable and plenty of storage space. Location is ideal. 2 min walk from the bus stop and the Terminal station. Co-op in the station as well. The Grill Bar next door does reasonable priced food and drink. Breakfast was simple but nice.

The Lodge is perfectly positioned right next to Grindelwald Terminal, walking distance less than 5 mins to the bus stop and a couple of extra minutes to the train station. We preferred this location rather than in town, it seemed less busy. The daily breakfast is extremely tasty and left us so full before every day’s adventure. The room and the bathroom were both large and the cubbies are perfect for storing your belongings. The screen is perfect to not let the bugs in but leave the windows open to listen to the river nearby. We had an incredible stay, thank you!

NetherlandsBit far out of town but it made for a nice workout and there are buses you can take for free. We took the car and parked it below tourist info.
We loved the outdoor-vibe of the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff gave us a nice welcome and a small present as compensation for the work being done. Which bothered us not at all. Views from room were amazing. Sunscreen doubled as mosquito net which helped keep the window open and the bugs out. Comfy beds, nice breakfast. Electric car could be charged in parking garage next door. Also next door: cable car to Eiger gletcher ánd (other side) a small bar with rooftop to enjoy the view some more. We loved Grindelwald and hope to be back.

We are currently on our 30th wedding anniversary trip, and this accommodation is located just a 5-minute walk from the Grindelwald Terminal in Switzerland. We stayed on the third floor in a room with a terrace that offered a beautiful view of the Eiger North Face and the village. Thank you so much for preparing the lovely honeymoon decoration in celebration of our 30th anniversary. Everything was perfect — the room condition, the friendly staff, and the breakfast. We give the highest rating in every aspect. We will definitely come back once the newly built rooms are completed. Thank you again!

United KingdomOnly thing I didn’t like is there isn’t a door for the shower which makes it very inconvenient for a family of four. Also, water from the shower could easily flow out to the toilet area.
The location is superb if your main goal is to visit the jungfrau. It is next to the grindelwald terminal train station and cable cars. There is also buses near by to go to the city centre. The room is newly renovated, very modern. The staffs are very friendly and helpful as well. Breakfast has a range of choices, not much but enough.

BelgiumWe didn't get a nice view of the mountains because they were having construction going on in front of our building either way we just stayed there to sleep and we're almost out the whole day.
We liked that we chose this place to stay because its infront of the train station and we had a complimentary bus ride during our 2 nights stay. Staff we're very helpful and friendly. What I liked the most is that you can bring food or buy at the nearby mall, and you can use their kitchen tools and dining area if you want to eat. They have a laundry area if you want to wash your clothes of course you'll just buy your own washing powder etc. The area is around Grindelwald and it was such a nice place to stay.

SingaporeThe 2 things that irritates us is the start of construction work at 6.55am??? I was rudely awakened by the knocking and constantly hammering until we can’t get a peaceful sleep. Bear in mind it’s summer time without air con in the room and we had to open the balcony for fresh air to come in, the noises from the workers were so annoying. You can renovate for sure. But not at 6.55am. Can’t you start at 8am or later? Secondly, the wifi doesn’t work! We tried 20 times on and off during 2 nights stay and it couldn’t work. We texted the hotel as there’s no phone in the room and each time we want something, we have to travel all the way down. I did inform the hotel and they simple says it’s the provider. That’s not a good solution you come up with. We gave up trying as it’s a waste of time and we ended up using a lot of our own data.
Close proximity to the Terminal with near by shops and a supermarket. The view is worth 10/10. Staff were helpful and kind. Parking is easy and spacious. Breakfast quality was good despite not a lot of choices. But fresh and clean is most important for us.

United StatesCoffee maker in the rooms would have been nice to have. The air conditioner didn’t seem to work very well.
The property managers were super helpful and accommodating. We loved the location. It isn’t in the downtown area so it was peaceful even though there was construction during business hours (we were out adventuring during those times). Unbeatable views from your room and patio. Nice breakfast and friendly staff in the mornings. If was so close to the terminal for the gondola, train station and grocery store. Plus there is a sweet and delicious restaurant/bar right next door. Easy and beautiful!

AustraliaCould have done with Air Conditioning or even a portable fan as we visited during a warmer time.
Awesome view of the surrounding mountains. Super close to Grindelwald Terminal station so could easily get a range of transport (e.g. train to/from accommodation, bus into main part of Grindelwald, Cable Car up mountains). The room was really comfortable and the breakfast provided was great. Even with renovations occuring, the reception was easy to find and breakfast area was comfortable.
