Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Handy for Train travellers right by the station, and value for money for a small group. Shop, Tram and takeaway close by. Well equipped. Great communication with the owner. Would stay again!

It was so hot! And we really struggled to get the apartment cooled down (with the aircon and fans).
Well situated apartment so close to the train station and the apartment has a view of Basel. We got complementary soft drinks, which was really appreciated as it was really hot! The kitchen is well equipped with pastas, sauces, teas etc, which were great! Great communication with the owner as well.

easy to access. The apartment was very clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything I needed for cooking, which made my stay even more comfortable. The hosts were incredibly kind, responsive, and welcoming.

The bathroom was small, old and a bit smelly. There was no comfy place to put your things when you shower. Generally could use a little renovation, Some bedsheets seemed not fresh. A light wasn't working in one of the bedrooms.
This place is huge. The kitchen was well stocked. It is very close to the main train station. It was quiet.

The threat of a 50 euro fine for not emptying the dishwasher, yet we found the dishwasher was not empty when we arrived.. There was an insect issue, especially around the dining table, most likely fungus gnats from the plants. The cookbook on display in the kitchen might offend some guests. Perhaps it was left there accidentally.
A very quiet & convenient location and the accommodation was incredibly spacious. Overall, it was a lovely stay.

Everything was fine but to watch the television an Apple TV account is needed as well as an Apple device to connect to the Apple TV box.
Our hosts were great amd easily contactable. The space was lovely - expansive views. Facilities were very nice. The apartment was easy to find given the very detailed instructions from our hosts. A Coop convenience store was located between the station and the apartment. There is also a Migros at the station. The location was very convenient for access to the main train station and to the main tram interchange.

Beds are relatively basic though good enough for a short stay. Heaters aren’t all working well, especially in the shower room so it gets really chilly.
Super convenient from train station and bus stops. Huge space for a family to hang out with Lego sets available for a toddler to stay occupied. Super well furnished kitchen.

Strict rules: garbage, laundry, dishes. Tiny little flies in the apartment. Lights are very dim.
