We had a wonderful stay at Ristorante le Bucce di Gandria. The room was cozy, clean, and full of character, exactly what you'd hope for in a small, lakeside hotel. What really made it special, though, was the view. Waking up to look out over Lake Lugano, with the mountains framing the water and the quiet little village of Gandria below, was something we won’t forget. The location is perfect if you're looking for a peaceful retreat that's still close to everything. It's just a short drive or boat ride to Lugano, and you're right near the Italian border too, which made day trips really easy. Gandria itself is tiny, charming, and full of atmosphere. Wandering its narrow lanes felt like stepping back in time. We also loved the slower pace and quiet evenings here. It was the kind of place where you can actually hear the lake. Highly recommend if you're after a mix of comfort, scenery, and a real sense of place.

A bit out of the main city of lugano, but you can get there via a bus.

The room was good enough, if you know what you are booking you will be fine. You have a shower in the room and a shared toilet. The owners are good people and we thank them for our stay there. The shared kitchen was something we did not expect and was a nice surprise. Views are PERFECT. I mean breathtaking.

The view of the lake and the mountains were stunning. The village and lake is gorgeous. (It has a lot of stone steps though, so it does require basic fitness and working knees to see the village, and make sure you get off at the right bus stop as those stairs with luggage is not fun.) The room and facilities were clean and we had everything we needed. There was no toilet in the room but this was not an issue for us. It was reflected in the price. Breakfast was provided and there was space in the fridge for us to keep our own food. Check in/check out was easy and the staff were friendly. There were some lovely restaurants close by and access to swim in the lake, too. I would happily recommend this listing.

We had a reservation for a room at Le Bucce di Gandria but due to a technical error with the booking system there was an overbooking and the staff of this place kindly solved it by arranging another room (with amazing lake view!) for us at Antico Ristorante, right next to the river. So my rating is about the room in Antico: Peaceful room, Beautiful view, Friendly staff.

Location is great. Just a short ride from Lugano city center. The view is just amazing. The hotel provides you with Ticino Ticket. So you can use public transport for free.

The place is one of best value stay we had with a great location, beautiful view and very clean. As it states on their site, there is no staff available for services but check-in is efficient, and a plenty of snacks in the small common area. We stayed only one night as a transit from Switzerland to Italy.

The bus to Gandria is quite infrequent so you need to plan ahead to make sure you get it when you need to.

Amazing view of the lake. Tidy room with a very comfortable double bed. The room had a shower and sink in it and the toilet was a shared one down the hall. There are not many rooms so sharing a toilet was not an issue. Common room with small fridge you can use & yoghurts, milk, hot drinks are provided. The lakefront is just a few minutes walk (down a lot of steps) and there’s a small area with a jetty where you can swim. There is a great walking path from there towards Lugano along the coast. Bus stops right next to the property.

Even if I had no toilet in the single room, the communal toilet was very clean and had a shower in my room.

It was a great location and a fantastic place. Very peaceful. Il sentiero degli ulivi takes you to Lugano on foot in less than an hour and is beautiful and peaceful. The accommodation was very clean and the view form the balcony was fantastic

The views are amazing!! Staff very friendly and it's nice they leave little bits for breakfast,tea& coffee too.We stayed there before and will stay there again!! Love it!! The village is gorgeous and the Sentiero dei Olivi is just amazing ,and it starts around there.

The usual issue with budget accommodation -- noisy. But you get what you pay for so it would be unreasonable to say it was a fault.

The bed was very uncomfortable- we could feel all the springs and as a result we didn't sleep well. I would have preferred a toilet closer to the room, however I was aware that the bathroom was shared at the time of booking so not complaining about that.

The balcony and the view were fantastic. It was also good to be able to access the small coffee area, sink and fridge. Gandria itself was lovely for a visit and the property was right by the bus stop so we were able to take the bus directly from Lugano train station. The shared bathroom was clean and a hairdryer was provided.
