Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumWe booked here one night on our way home. Staff was very friendly. We had to search for couple of minutes for the reception. The chamber was ok. Nearby the hotel is a small playground which was good for the kids. We booked in the restaurant below the hotel for diner. Nice restaurant with typical swiss dishes. Breakfast was hosted by friendly lady, and good. Sufficient choices available.

EstoniaOpposite the streer there’s a church that seems to have a habit of lengthy bell shows at 5 AM… Quite expensive, but well, it is Switzerland after all :)
A nice yet simple room in a typucal alpine hotel, ok location close to Pilatus Bahn. Very nice, helpful and flexible staff.

United KingdomUncomfortable bed. Previous guests underwear left on the heater!
Good location, easy to get to Lucerne (beautiful place to visit). friendly staff especially the lovely lady serving in the breakfast room. Things to be aware of: it’s an old building and every single floor creaks! There are multiple churches nearby and they start ringing bells at 5am. Being an old building there is no air con and so it’s very warm - to manage temperatures you’ll need the windows open but then the church bells might disturb you.

TurkeyThe hotel was wooden and old, so there was a lot of noise in the rooms above and below with every walk. It was very convenient that the hotel collected empty bottles and garbage in the morning.
The hotel location was great. The food and service were very good. The staff was friendly.

SwitzerlandUnfortunately you are near the church, so, as on small village, bells every 15 min to midnight and wake up at 6:00

ItalyThe bedroom ceiling is a bit low and the room a bit noisy.
The bedroom was cozy, big and clean. The breakfast was great, full of different types of homemade and bio food. The location is perfect, only 15 minutes far from Lucerne city centre by car.

MalaysiaI don't like the sound of the crack when people upstairs make a move or walk. In the morning or night time the sound too loud and very annoying.

United KingdomIt was very functional so fine for a one night stay but no wardrobe or drawers, just hooks and hangers on the wall.
The hotel was easy to find and we managed to park immediately outside which was just as well as we arrived in a torrential downpour. Everything seemed clean. Full of alpine charm.

The staff are so lovely. The room was big on the top floor. Close up the station for sightsee and park and ride into Lucerne.

Germany- The shower (old) has a good water pressure, but it changes from cold-hot vert quickly when being used by other rooms. - We missed a trashcan in the bedroom, and definitely a bigger trashcan in the bathroom. For 4 people, it was way too small. - It can get a bit noisy if you leave the windows open (it is close to a church, so there's some bells ringing including during the night). I slept ok with my earplugs on, but the other guests who were not wearing them had a rough time with the noise. - The mattress and the pillow could definitely be more comfortable. They are too soft, and they sink. - The breakfast was a bit basic (we lacked some savoury options), but croissants were delicious, and one of the types of bread was the best I've tried so far. Very fluffy. - We didn't know we could pre-order some alternative options for dairy before our arrival. But there's the option according to the host.
- Very friendly and helpful staff. - Great wifi connection! - Quick and good check-in. - Although simple, the room has all you need for a short stay. - Mattress was quite comfortable. - Clean towels. They also give several soap bars for each guest. - There's a fan upon request (a bit dusty though, but it served its purpose). - Free parking.

United KingdomThe room was too hot. There was no AC so I couldn’t sleep. Not enough hair shampoo, body jel and hand wash jel. Plugs are very old and couldn’t charge any of our electronic devices. The owner of the hotel should spend some money to renovate this hotel and improve the facilities.
Breakfast was good
