How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

This property was lovely, the location was great, quiet area of Lugano but close enough to the city centre, shops and transport routes were minutes away. The apartment itself was fantastic, and very spacious, the host was super helpful during our stay and the small details within the property made it feel like home from home. We recommend this property and should we return to Lugano we would definitely look to stay here.

Nothing. Apartment was fantastic.
Cannot rate this place highly enough! Situated perfectly in a quiet residential area but close enough to walk into Lugano and also enjoy hikes in the local area. Really comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. Basement parking was a real plus! Check-in process made easy with the information we were provided with before we arrived and the apartment was ready early in the day for our arrival. Elkenda really is a great host and helped to make our stay in Lugano a special one. Thank you. We hope to be back one day soon!

Breakfast not applicable. Great attention to detail. Everything one might need was there. And the host was very gracious and helpful. I would recommend the apartment without hesitation.

Best apartment in Lugano for short and long stay, nothing is missing and the position is great. Owner was extremely fast to reply and helpful, in addition I was welcomed with snacks and drinks. Will get back soon, thank you!

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment! Everything was spotlessly clean and very well organized. The price-quality ratio is absolutely perfect. The location is excellent — just a short walk to the promenade — and having a private parking space in a garage was a huge bonus. It was easy to access the garage and drive in and out without any problems. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and completely hassle-free. The apartment is very well equipped with everything you might need, including a washing machine, a dryer, and a drying rack for clothes. Overall, it was an ideal place to stay. We would love to come back again and again! Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable!

To the city center and train station it's still 20-30min walk. You better take the bus.

Absolutely everything. The apartment is located in a very quiet area, quiet neighbors. Everything is new and the apartment is very clean and equipped with absolutely everything you need. In addition to all mentioned, he welcomed us with a very good dessert. There are 2 supermarkets 1 minute away. It is very close to the center and by bus I think there are 5 or 6 short stops.

Everything was perfect.
Very comfortable, well furnished and modern apartment with big terrace. Clean and cosy. Beautifully located in calm neighbourhood. Everything was very well prepared for guests. The host Elkena was very friendly and helpfull, she took really good care of us. We highly recommend staying at Kristal Gabri.
