This hostel always delievers. It is clean, rather quiet, provides great services for families as well, although this time was alone. I was late arriving and the staff kindly left an envelope me at reception.

It can get loud when there are groups coming but quiet times are being respected. walking distance to town is a little far but one can take the bus. I would have liked more tips on what to do in the area from the hostel, maybe a city map would be helpful.

It is right next to the train station which is perfect if you want to take off right away. There are quiet rooms where you can relax and read a book. The breakfast ist excellent with local products and a lot of variety

It was a lovely new facility where everything worked perfectly. The design was thoughtful and minimalist but it catered for all your needs. We had dinner for a reasonable cost and included breakfast and paid only 4.50CHF for a generous bag of laundry that was ready for us at 7am next morning. Happy days.

Loved this hostel, breakfast was included and was great! Staff are so helpful and right beside train and bus station. Would definitely stay again. They send you a guest pass for free travel around the area which is very handy loved everything about it!

I don't think I can find anything wrong!

Great location for a day trip from Zurich. Very clean and spacious communal areas with great views! The staff were also very accommodating to a required later check out due to a work call.

Three things come to mind: The mattress (memory foam I believe it's called) was too soft for my back to take, so that I spent the nights sleeping on the floor. My friend though didn't have any complaints about the mattress. Secondly: The cosy fireplace from the photos wasn't in use: instead of fire it displayed decorative gourd/pumpkins and what not. -- The rest of the photos, though, are accurate as far as I can tell. Thirdly: For breakfast they had fruits, yoghurts, cereals, etc..., bread: quite nice dark bread. Since I personally prefer rolls/buns for breakfast, I was a little disappointed. Even croissants/"Gipfeli" that are so popular in Switzerland, were surprisingly not part of the buffet.

The receptionist, who greeted us, was very friendly. Since it was off season and our room was already ready, we could check in and occupy our room at arrival at 10.30 am. We had booked a very nice double room with its own toilet and shower. We loved the wooden design and it was quiet. From our window we overlooked the train station which is situated literally across the street and the cable cars going up one of the mountains that surround the hostel on all sides. -- The Main Street of the town with the shops and restaurants/bars are a 15 minutes walk away. The breakfast buffet was plenty and one evening we also had dinner at the hostel. It seemed a bit pricy but then again it included a salad or soup and dessert. But best of all: the cook offered preparing a special vegan dish for me. Don't miss out on the foosball, table tennis or pool table located/hidden in the basement

Very good location close to the train station and a 10-15 walk into town. I had a nice single room with a private bathroom. The room was very simple but had everything I needed for my stay. The bed was very comfortable and there was enough space to store my luggage. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect breakfast buffet.

Best hostel I’ve ever been, close to the train station, on an amazing location. It’s possible to store the bikes in their cellar. Very good breakfast and warm and cozy environment.

Young people staying were rather noisy but then it is a youth hostel. Shower tended to mean the whole bathroom got wet after a shower. Would have been nice to have kitchen facilities.

Laundry you paid 9CHF for but gave good service (just a bit pricey for some). No towels. Not many food options on weekends as town is small. Very hot in the rooms if window is kept closed (had to cause other people in the room wanted it closed).

Place was lovely, clean and felt like a 5 star hotel, nothing like hostels I've been to. Free breakfast was great, beautiful views all around. Lovely staff. Room was roomey and nice view from there.

I like the proximity to the station and the secure bike storage. I stayed here a few times a decade ago and it’s a great spot for solo and intrepid travellers.
