How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had a great stay! The room for three was very spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a nice, fresh design. Parking was convenient and quite cheap (you need to ask for a parking ticket in the hotel), right next to the hotel. There’s also a supermarket and a bakery just right to the place, which made everything even easier. Highly recommend for a comfortable and practical stay!

The room was nice and clean and it was very close to the train station and grocery store (we were taking the Bernina Express train). The parking was in a garage next to the B&B and the price was 5 CHF. I didn’t realise that it’s a bed&breakfast without breakfast included. I mean you could buy breakfast in the cafe/restaurant downstairs but I was suprised that it wasn’t included.

I had misunderstood the B&B-part. You actually just rent a room and then pay for breakfast & dinner à la carte. I would have appreciated a breakfast buffet that you normally have in a B&B or hotel or at least soms discount on the normal prices for guests.
Very spatious, modern and comfortable rooms. Breakfast & dinner possible in the bakery underneath. Well situated near the train station of Thusis.

The room was nice, although it was a bit small for 3 people. We found the room very hot even if the outside temperature was about 10 Celsius, and there was no AC to cool it down or any switch to turn off the heating, so we had to sleep with the windows opened. The parking was easy and next to the hotel. We chose to pay extra for the breakfast in the morning, but we found it with very limited choices for the price, and it was including some small pastry bites which in my opinion are not considered as breakfast.

Just note that you need to check-in with the staff in the bakery. This was a little unclear. The beds are quite soft, which some people might like. Compared to the beds in Germany and Austria which were rock hard, these beds are on the other end of the scale and rather soft. As others have mentioned, it's not a B&B. There is no breakfast included.
Great little hotel attached to a beautiful and popular bakery/cafe. Supermarket is right next door and parking in the parking lot next door is only 5CHF if you have your parking validated with the accomodation. Definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I couldn"t understand that our booking apparently was without breakfast, as we booked a bed and breakfast. So we automatically expected to get breakfast.

Breakfast kind of expensive and not too memorable
The room was very clean and neat. The beds were comfortable and the shower was very nice. There was a rooftop terrace and our clothes were ironed when we asked to use a ironing machine. Also good wifi connection

What a gem of a place! We loved our stay at the Gyger. We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast. The staff are wonderful and our accommodation was lovely and clean. The location was perfect for the train station especially using the lifts near the Coop to the bus station. This was so much quicker than following the route on google maps. We travelled across Switzerland and the Gyger was our favourite accommodation. We wished we could have stayed longer!Thank you Gill and Dave Lound

Only thing lacking was a set of drinking glasses in the room and nice shampoo / conditioner

The room was a little smaller than advertised and was on the first floor above the road so with the window open traffic noise was a little intrusive. The pictures on Booking.com suggest the room would be larger. Ask for a rear facing room or an upper floor.
Lovely comfy beds and a great bathroom. The cafe did a decent light breakfast for €10 all in. The bakery is lovely - great sandwiches for lunch. Good value for Switzerland. Very easy to get to. You take elevators up from the concourse opposite the trainstation and its just a 50m walk.
