Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

SwitzerlandThe noise from the restaurant could be heard from the room but it died down around 10:00 - 11:00 p.m. The breakfast consisted only of cold items since it was self-service. Some ham and eggs would have been nice to start a chilly winter day with. But for 80.00 CHF / night I cannot really complain.
I arrived there at 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday night and was very happy about the personal check-in (I was shown and explained everything in full detail by a member of the staff) and the fact that I could get a tasteful and hearty meal almost immediately although the restaurant was full. My room was spacious and well heated. The bed comfy, the duvet warm enough. I could have access to soft drinks and coffee around the clock. FREE.

United KingdomAs stated above, the Hotel needs advance notification if you require breakfast during your stay but it wasn't an issue as we had a lovely breakfast at the local bakery a few meters down the road.
The owner/Manager of the hotel went above and beyond in the restaurant for our evening meal accommodating our preferences and allergies. Very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and had very comfortable beds. They were very homely and clean. You need to notify the Hotelier in advance of your arrival if you wish to have breakfast provided at the hotel but we were unaware of this. It was not a problem as there is a wonderful bakery down the road where they also provide seating and a menu to eat onsite. We had a hire car so the fact that the hotel was a little off the beaten track in a village was not a problem for us - we enjoyed the peace and quiet and seeing the real Switzerland! Would definitely recommend and would be more than happy to visit Gasthof Lowen again!
