How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Note that this Guesthouse is a very steep 3km up from the train station. The place is extremely well-organized and therefore somewhat strict but you can get into it.
Beautiful guesthouse with comfortable rooms and high attention to detail with friendly staff

Food was a little pricey but that is always expected when traveling in Switzerland.
Spacious and clean rooms, wonderful views, and very nice staff! Shared bathrooms were exceptionally clean and we only had to share with 1 other guest for 1 of our 2 night stay.

Breakfast was ok. Fresh "Birchlermüsli" was awesome. A lack of healthy carbs though. There were some sweets, kellogs, white bread, but no proper bread. There was some cheese and I think ham. Nothong out of the ordinary. Also not a ton of guests though to be fair.

Due to the age of the building every time you moved in the room the wooden floor was noisy. Didn’t bother us but felt bad for other guests as we had a very early departure
Great character rooms, spacious and nicely furnished. Staff were very friendly

Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on Monday like so many others.
Very quiet (due to few other guests), comfy bed, great view from the room window, room for bycicles.

The property is heavily overpriced even under Swiss standards, obviously taking advantage of the lack of accommodation in the area. Room is spartan with a very basic furniture. No feeling that guests' needs are really considered: absolute shortage of sockets, and even no hooks for outdoor closes. The only time in Switzerland when for breakfast only one sort of bread was offered, and no croissants or something similar. Restaurant is OK, but nothing special, and with quite limited choice.
The property enjoys very good and picturesque location in the beginning of Safiental, and is frequented by hikers like us and especially bikers. Good transport connections within the valley. Room had sufficient space and was clean. The hotel is combined with a local brewery, with several interesting sorts of beer.

The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The guesthouse is not that close to the Versam train station (my fault for not checking) but luckily it is next to a bus stop. Note - bus runs infrequently in the mornings back to the train station. We stayed on a Monday night and the restaurant is closed but they were kind enough to offer to cook us dinner and it was delicious.

The room was very basic for the price. The sink was not in the bathroom. The restaurant was extremely overpriced for preheated cordon blue. For 1 starter and two mains (cordon blue & schnitzel, one portion of large French fries. Two strudels and an ice cream. 3 glasses of house wine, a water and a cola came to £170!!!!! Breakfast was also exceptionally basic.
The location was beautiful. The staff were fantastic, we especially liked Peter from the restaurant. The room was clean and tidy. The soup in the restaurant was stunning.

The room was entirely made of wood, which cracked noisily at night. Also the isolation was not the best, we could hear every single move our upstairs neighbors made.
We positively loved Gasthaus Rössli! The location is perfect for exploring the Rhine gorge, with very beautful views from the hotel terrasse. The room was very clean and rather large. The food at the hotel was delicious (especially the capuns!), and the staff very accommodating (they offered us a hot meal even when we arrived after 9pm the first day). A big plus for us was the on-site micro-brewery - we thoroughly enjoyed their home-made beers!

Fantastic accommodation in a fantastic location. Incredible surroundings. Beautiful historic building with an amazing history. Staff were super helpful checking in, I enjoyed an excellent beer on arrival, which is brewed on location. Helped me sort my laundry with drying space in the laundry room. Nice bedroom and great breakfast. Secure bike storage in dedicated garage. Loved everything about the place.
