Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe reception staff did not offer a particularly warm welcome, and I was surprised to find the main entrance closed around 4:00 p.m., even though it was supposed to remain open until 5:00 p.m. I had to enter through the neighboring restaurant, where they told me I was “lucky” to arrive just in time. There were no in-room tea/coffee facilities, and I couldn’t find a shared kitchen either. Breakfast was quite basic and not served buffet-style; instead, each guest received a prepared plate at the restaurant next door.
The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The location also offered relatively good access to the main parts of the city.

United StatesThe building was rather grungy and poorly laid out. It was very confusing finding a way into the building and to our room. There was no air conditioning and opening the windows only allowed bugs and road noise in.
The room was clean and well maintained.

United KingdomI wasn't particularly thrilled with the single bed. A crucial tip for UK visitors is to remember that Swiss plug sockets require a specific adapter, different from the general EU standard. I was very relieved to find a wireless phone charger available, as I wouldn't have been able to charge my phone otherwise. Unfortunately, there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
Accessibility is excellent: it's only a few minutes from Zurich station by public transport, followed by a 10-minute walk. I particularly enjoyed the spacious terrace,

GermanyOur room was at the main street, it was a bit disturbing to hear the cars early in the morning. Everything works with emails you receive. Code for entrance hotel and room arrives by email. Email with description how to use the parking garage etc. You really need to read all emails carefully to understand what you need to do. This was a bit unpersonal, but everything worked and we did not see any staff member during the whole stay.
We were there only for 1 night to go to a Concert in the Hallenstadion. Easy to get to the stadion from Hotel by foot. Our room was very clean and fairly big for a hotel room. Everything was very clean. I liked the environmental efforts. Toilet flushes with rain water etc. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast on Friday morning in the Restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel was very good and sufficient. The staff in Restaurant was very nice. We had dinner there as well and the food was very good.

GermanyBreakfast at the restaurant downstairs was amazing. Traditional Swiss breakfast with bread, dairy products and nice cold cuts. The room was as nice as expected with a minimalist, brutalist style. It helped to appreciate the cleanliness. I traveled for business, so location was superb for me. It might not be great if you plan to stay a few days checking the sights in Zurich. However, it's so close to a bus stop that connects to the tram and train, so it's well-connected.

United StatesI thought the coffee pods were way overpriced at SFR 2.50 each. The 2 free ones in the room were "expired", that is, they yielded no coffee. I did not like the breakfast arrangement because of its lack of flexibility. We did not need a full breakfast every day and would have appreciated more options. We ended up going across the street to the Cafe Steiner.
I liked the location, but also the concept of the development, Mehr als Wohnen. Our room was comfortable. The staff was very accommodating in making available to us a shower chair for my husband, and also agreeing to add an extra bed for a few nights if needed. I also appreciated the keyless entry by code.

SwitzerlandCommunication about the parking could have been better. To make it clear, parking is not a huge issue in that area actually -- because there's a big public garage (Messe) 500m away. But when you come to the area for the very first time, you don't necessarily know this. And when you look around at first, all you see are a lot of "Parkverbot" signs, so not really a comfortable situation for a person traveling by a car. So I asked in advance for a paid parking card which would enable me to leave my car by the object safely. Though I asked once more per e-mail just a day before arrival, and got confirmed that the card would wait for me on the desk in the room, the parking card didn't materialize. And since reception doesn't work Thursdays, when I arrived, this felt like a big let down. A telephone call to the support didn't really help, because they just said "don't worry, we'll see to it in the morning", which was not really reassuring for me being alone in an unknown area with apparently heavily restricted parking slots. So I played safe, and moved my car to the Messe garage. This costed some more money, but at least it was safe. The cost of the parking card (which I never received) was later removed from the bill of course, and this is appreciated -- but a bit of a bad taste still remains, unfortunately. On a positive note, the personnel of the restaurant in the ground floor (which is not directly affiliated with the room provider, but they do serve breakfast for guests) was very kind. They offered at least a moral support in the evening of the arrival. And the breakfast itself was also very good.
Location is good if what you look for is Messe, airport, or similar. I needed accommodation close to the Hallenstadion, and this object perfectly fulfilled that. Breakfast (offered by the restaurant in the ground floor) was very good.

AustraliaThere were issues with my entry codes so I couldn't get in the apartment and was then locked out of the building in the evening. The after hours support were quick to help and very friendly but it was frustrating it required multiple resets and being locked out twice.
The room was spacious and very clean. It was perfect for a one night stay before an early flight. The room has the basic essentials but everything was new and well presented.
