The property was absolutely gorgeous. It was like a fairy tale not was in a wonderful location in the center of everything but also quite.

We loved everything about the hotel

Everything about this property is exceptional. The grounds are beautiful, extremely clean, and very accessible. The room was also so cute and cozy. If you needed anything at all, Michelle and Thor are more than willing to accommodate and they go above and beyond to make you feel at home. They truly felt like family and I will definitely try to book again when I return to Zermatt. Thor and Michelle also assisted me with so much information and I owe them credit for making my Breithorn summit both possible and safe.

I loved everything about this property. There were no issues at all. Michelle and Thor were kind enough to prepare a breakfast early for me, given that I had a trek early in the morning. In one of the pictures (5 Lakes Trail) you can see the lovely meal they packed for me.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Hotel Romantica. The hotel itself is charming, spotless, and perfectly located in the heart of Zermatt, offering both peace and convenience. The rooms were cozy, well-appointed, and had a warm, inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. What truly sets Hotel Romantica apart, however, is the hospitality. Thor, the owner, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. He was incredibly helpful with recommendations and local tips, and to top it all off, he personally gave us a ride in his cart with our luggage to the train station when we were leaving – a gesture we’ll never forget. It’s rare to find a place where the service feels so genuinely caring. We left Zermatt with wonderful memories, and Hotel Romantica was a big part of that. Highly recommend to anyone visiting this beautiful town!

The owners are welcoming and made sure I had a smooth check-in. Breakfast was amazing. Thor helped me with a lot of site-seeing recommendations and maps which helped me greatly. Rooms are clean and well-maintained and have all the necessary amenities. Highly recommended!

Beautiful gardens in front of the hotel. The owners were very friendly and provided great insight on Zermatt hikes and some great suggestions for restaurants!

The proprietors are very friendly and welcoming and are keen to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

We loved absolutely everything! The hotel was so beautifully decorated and was on a very convenient location where it was close to the train station and all the restaurants, shops and hiking but also on a side street so very quiet at night for sleeping. The hosts were amazing, helping us with great restaurant recommendations and hiking recommendations and made the best cappuccinos and took care of everything we needed. We felt so at home!

Good location, beautiful garden at the front, great views from our balcony, room and lobby were clean and thoughtfully decorated, delicious breakfast and most importantly very kind hosts! Thank you Thor and Michelle. Would love to come back again!

Michelle and Thor are the most wonderful hosts! From the moment we walked in until our departure they were both so helpful and accommodating. Michelle mapped out an amazing itinerary for us, her recommendations were right on point. The house is in a perfect location, just a few steps from shops and restaurants. And it was an easy walk from the train station, even with our luggage. We would absolutely stay here again.

It is the most beautiful, quaint, comfortable place we stayed in Switzerland. Michele and Thor were so helpful with their suggestions on where to eat and what to do each day.

Everything was lovely. The owner, Michèle, is very kind and welcoming. The garden is full of flowers, the room is perfect, as is the breakfast.

Stunning cottage, exceptional hospitality. Tor and Michelle went above and beyond to make our experience a truly memorable one. Delicious breakfast, decoration and art that make you feel you are in a fairytale. Attention to detail is spectacular, truly one of the best properties we have had the pleasure to stay at. The best in Zermatt and probably the whole of Switzerland.

A bit tough if you need to move the luggages a bit uphill, but manageable if the luggages are not too heavy

Staying here is like staying with your favourite auntie who has exquisite taste, makes an excellent breakfast, and has the greenest thumb in Switzerland. The location is perfect, one street up from the main drag in the center of Zermatt, but it's so quiet. I had a single room ensuite, exactly the right size. The bed was comfortable - first decent night's sleep I'd had since coming to Switzerland. Thor and Michelle are delightful hosts. The front patio is shaded and overlooks Michelle's garden - it might just be the most relaxing spot in Zermatt. This will be my go-to hotel every time I visit Switzerland.

Adjust your expectations about A/C. Apparently, it's a Swiss law that the temperature can be reduced only so far. If you need your room to be cold enough to hang beef, you'll be disappointed. It was 32 degrees while I was there, and the A/C could not deal. The windows provide pretty decent ventilation.

Centrally located in Zermatt. The owners are amazing and incredibly helpful. The breakfast is also very good. We stayed in one of the cabins which was really quaint and cute. The bed was a bit stiff and the stairs were a little nerve racking walking down in the middle of the night but otherwise, the stay was comfortable and romantic.

Everything was perfect.

Weather was very warm and we had to keep the windows open to cool the room. That too was not enough. Portable fans would have been of help.
