This was a good place for me to spend a night in Interlaken both before and right after my 9 day hike in the Jungfrau region mountains. It is located a outside the center of Interlaken but a walkable distance. It is easy to get from here with the PostBus to the Wilderswil train station for the train to Schynige Platte. There is a good bakery a few minutes away for breakfast and coffee. The beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Checking in went quickly and smoothly. I had booked a bed in a 6 bed mixed dorm, but both times I was put in a room composed of two separate rooms, each with 4 beds. This was actually nicer than being in a 6 bed dorm, just perhaps a little confusing.

The shared kitchen only has a microwave, disposal cutleries & plates, so you can not cook food, only can heat up food. No fridge. The free coffee machine didn't work that day, so we thought we could use the other coffee machine next to it (at the bar counter). But the staff told us we can't operate that one ourselves, but did not tell us that we need to pay for the coffee from that machine. So he made the coffee for my husband and then charged him for it because that coffee machine was not free.

The whole place has nostalgic vibes, but the furniture is old. Nice environment and quite a convenient place to go to Interlaken West Station.

The hostel rooms are part of a hotel structure. To enter a room you have a key card, providing security for your stuff that you can also leave at the luggage room opposite the reception. The reception is open 24h a day, with very polite staff at every instance. All in all, a great choice if you want to explore Interlaken on a budget

We got a free upgrade to a 2 person private room in this old mansion styled hostel. Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and people. Only stayed 1 night but would have stayed longer here. Do not expect luxury and you have to be okay with a little mold and some stains here and there but overall, nice experience!

There were almost no sockets at all in the entire room, at most one per bunk bed (one for both beds, and not always), and 2 in the bathroom.

The shower of the room we stayed at was really small and one of the corners of the floor was sunken, which made it uncomfortable. The shower head was also broken, which meant that the water got everywhere except for where it should, and the light was very dim. For the bunk beds, if someone moved on the lower bunk bed, it was really noticeable in the upper one. There were also no lockers in the room, which didn’t bother us because we were a big group, but should be noted.

The view from the room was amazing and the price we paid for it was a good deal (seeing as Switzerland is one of the most expensive countries). The lobby area had some nice sofas, and there was a dining hall where we could bring our own food and eat it (they also had a microwave and plastic cutlery available).

There were some wall sockets and a tall lamp, but more lighting options nearer each of the bunks would be ideal. Likewise the bathroom needed a don't look approach- there was mould throughout the wall.

This hotel/hostel has the bones of once being a star hotel in the area. The rooms were standard back packer rooms however they were super basic with only bunk beds available. The view was incredible, with our room over looking the mountains in two directions and a view of the snow capped mountain right in front. There was a bar and communal area for people to congregate and have a drink or play some games. The beds were okay too neither comfy or uncomfy. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

The price is cheap. The location is good. The hostel is near to COOP supermarket and bus-stop. There is a micro-wave to heat the food bought from the supermarket.
