How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

In the restaurant (not half board), the quality and quantity of the food was not always at the right level. One day the mixed salad was great the other day totally over salted. I am not a big eater, but the quantity was not okay. Fish and chips: only 4 pieces of fish and too many fries (to compensate). Tagliata di manzo: 2 small pieces of beef and lots of vegetables (to compensate) - conclusion: They are almost there, but not quite yet…

Verified reviewThe hotel itself is very beautiful and impeccably clean. The breakfast offerings were satisfactory.
However, the reception service was absolutely disappointing. Upon arrival, my sister and I specifically requested a parking space with an electric vehicle charging station. At no point were we informed that charging required an additional card obtainable from the reception desk. As a result, the car remained “charging” for the entirety of our stay but never actually charged. When we realized this on the day of departure and brought it to the attention of the reception, they merely stated that I should have asked for the charging card—something I assumed was obvious when requesting a parking spot with a charger. Additionally, I noticed that other guests were offered a welcome drink upon check-in. This courtesy was not extended to us. The reception staff were unhelpful and unpleasant throughout our stay. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend the hotel.

Very commercial attitude, e.g. tab water during half board dinner comes at a price, 20% discount on the first drink in the bar - instead of a free welcome drink (with a 4 nights stay…)

Verified reviewTop Hotel, with nice services: the wellness area, the meals, the extra services and the infrastructure. It was ideal for a long relaxing weekend. We stayed at the "corner room": very nice with view on the mountains and the village.
The meal service was very kind but a bit too fast. Although I understand the need to be efficient, I would have liked to have a bit more time to simply stay at the table and chat without having to rush into the 4-dishes menu.

Verified reviewThe only good thing about this hotel is the location/view and that the building itself looks nice from the outside—spacious and well-decorated. Some rooms have big balconies, though that space would have been better used to make the rooms themselves larger. The staff was friendly, but that didn’t translate into competence or actual service. After our complaints, they offered a room upgrade, but only for the second night—an offer that was essentially useless for a short stay.
This hotel is the definition of overpriced mediocrity, with management that either has no idea what they’re doing or is deliberately cutting every possible corner. The most outrageous issue was that the shower was inside the bedroom, just 30 cm from the bed, separated only by a curtain. The sink was equally ridiculous—tiny, practically unusable, and guaranteed to splash water everywhere, including the bed where you sleep. No 4-star hotel should ever rent out a room like this, let alone without a clear warning. Beyond the bizarre bathroom setup, everything else felt cheap: the hairdryer was weak, the rooms were cramped, and the breakfast was forgettable. Even the juice glasses at the buffet were laughably small, forcing guests to refill them multiple times just to get a normal portion. Staff ignored our complaints, happy to let us walk away rather than actually solve the problem. This hotel hides behind a fancy facade but delivers a soulless, cut-rate experience that isn’t worth a fraction of what they charge.

While some of our rooms were redesigned to include an open bathroom concept, we recognize that this is not to everyone’s taste, and it should absolutely be communicated more clearly before arrival. It’s clear that in your case, we failed to do so, and we sincerely apologize for that. It’s also disappointing to hear that our gesture of offering an upgrade for the second night felt insufficient, and that you didn’t feel properly supported by our team during your stay. We always aim for flexibility and genuine hospitality, and we regret that you experienced it as the opposite. Regarding the breakfast, room amenities, and the general impression of “cutting corners,” we take your comments very seriously. It’s never our intention to hide behind appearances, and your feedback is an important reminder that service and substance must always come before style. We appreciate you highlighting both the positives—the building’s charm, location, and friendliness of staff—and the many areas where we clearly need to do better.
