How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All good. Nice, clean well equipped and comfortable property. Hosts were great. Had a minor hiccup with the cot but response was quick and issue was sorted immediately

Free parking nearby. Nice big bathroom.Free laundry (washer & dryer) in house. Quiet location. Large open kitchen/dining/ living area with lots of windows. Bedrooms in back of building facing garden area.

There was one clothes washer & dryer on the ground floor. There was no AC or shutters and it was very hot during our August stay. There was a floor fan in the living area and fans in 2 of the bedrooms.
The host was very responsive to messages and let us into apartment early. The location was very close to bus stop that took as directly downtown. There was a small grocery store and playground. There were 3 restaurants but only one was open due to the days of our stay. Free parking was available in a lot 2-3 buildings away. The 2nd floor apartment was spacious. The bathroom was large.

No lifts. We were on the 4th floor, but fit ones should have no issue.
Very spacious and homely atmosphere. Has a rustic feeling to the place, which endeared us very much. Has the usual facilities for a well run apartment. Was clean. Staff are responsive over email /messaging with short turnaround time. We ran out of shampoo and they replaced it promptly. Easy to collect and drop off the keys. We were happy with the location as it was away from the din and bustle of the big town. 5 min walk from the bus stop. 10 min to get to the train station. Kids liked the place very much. Would come back again

There is only one toilet in the apartment, so we have to take turns to take a shower and use the toilet. If there's an emergency, really have to hold it.
The location is 2km from downtown, but it's very convenient to take bus No. 2 to get there. The bus runs about every ten minutes. Since there's no supermarkets around the neighborhood, we bought food and drinks from downtown Coop. We like it clean and quiet, easy to cook, and easy to do the laundry.

Lack of comfy seating for 4 people. Slightly noisy with windows open - needed in the summer as property doesn’t have AC. 4th floor not a problem for us but with no lift could be a problem for some.
Excellent location and great quirky character in the property. Very clean and well equipped kitchen and bathroom with shared clothes washing facilities

The unit was nicer than I thought it would be. Very clean and comfortable. The bus stop is only a few minutes walk which was great! I do recommend ear plugs as the train line is close by and can be noisy if you need a sleep in.

Apartment was clean and had a good location on a main bus line into the city center. Kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the laundry machines down stairs. Not a dislike but just we aware the apartment has no AC, and you don’t know what floor your apartment is on until you arrive. It got very warm during the day as we were there during a warm week, and even with the fans and windows open at night it didn’t cool down much for the next day.

We had been warned that the apartment was on the 4th floor, but do note this if mobility is an issue as it was a steep climb with a suitcase!
The property was clean and quiet on the edge of town. Lucerne provides visitors with a complimentary pass for travel, and we made full use of this. The buses all around town run regularly and reliably, and make getting around easy. While this property's location is not much in itself, it is so well connected (just 10 minutes to the city centre) that it wasn't a problem and well worth it for the quiet nights. It's set back from the main road and rail line, so neither disturbed us. The kitchen had everything you would need for a few-day stay. The bathroom has been recently decorated with a comfortable bath and a separate shower. The space was airy, having a second floor and a balcony, although we didn't use this due to a lack of time and inclement weather. The rooms were a decent size with space for a suitcase and to hang clothes.

Pillows could be better
Cosy home with good facilities. They have basically everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Less than 10 minutes to Lucerne Train Station with bus No 2.

Area around the property gives off a rougher vibe than other parts of the city
