The only disappointment was the chef and reception person. We had to leave by 6.30 a.m to Jungfrau and requested if we could have some bread or fruit to carry along as we had paid for breakfast but breakfast doesn't start until 7 a.m. I was told nothing would be ready before 7. It was shocking to see that the breakfast was all ready made and nothing really cooked by the chef except boiled eggs. They could've easily provided us with a croissant or a fruit (as everything was ready made) which we requested just for 1 morning.

Security - Room Key.

It was good that the hotel was across from train station. There was no air conditioning, but we expected this and a fan was on site for use. A balcony over the water was definitely a bonus. It was very quiet. It is somewhat dated; however, clean. Not sure about the security - leaving the key to room at front desk and it appeared that anyone may have access to it. Safe was available in room.

The hotel is right opposite Interlaken Ost railway station with its excellent railway connections and next to the Lake Brienz Ferry. Unfortunately I had to curtail my stay because of a leg injury and a member of staff carried my suitcase up to the station platform when I decided to leave early.

There is nothing in particular that I would point out as disappointing.

The location of this hotel is absolutely superb. It is so close to Interlaken Ost Station that one could almost crawl there on their hands and knees. Since all trains bound for Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, and other destinations depart from Interlaken Ost, the hotel’s location is second to none. There is a small Coop supermarket inside the Interlaken Ost Station, and a much larger Coop within a 5-minute walking distance. The front desk staff were very kind, and the staff serving breakfast were also extremely friendly. This hotel is also very conveniently located for visiting Harder Kulm. Taking a morning stroll along the Aare River offers truly beautiful scenery. Our whole family was satisfied with the breakfast. Among the menu items was thinly sliced turkey sausage, which everyone enjoyed. I personally liked the bananas and fresh fruit. The room I stayed in had a view of Interlaken Ost Station, as well as the mountains to the south of the hotel—it was a beautiful sight. Upon looking into it, I found that this hotel has a long history and had once hosted Mendelssohn in the past. Our family of six stayed in three rooms, and everyone was very satisfied.

Breakfast was very limited, with few options cosidering the price we have paid. I would suggest not to pay for it and breakfast in one of the train station cafeterias.

I thought the breakfast was quite poor for the money so chose to eat elsewhere.

Superb location. Two minutes walk from Interlaken Ost small local train station with connections to all the main towns. Quiet part of town and my room had a stunning view overlooking the mountains. The staff could not be more pleasant, nor helpful. Close to Harder Kulm which is a must see site up the funicular which is 5 minutes walk away giving a panorama of the two lakes with Interlaken nestled in between.

The location next to Interlakken west was awesome, we had a room overlooking the River and although the Hotel was oldskool, it was actually great. walking distance along the river or main street to town centre. the train ran every 15 minutes also. The staff were very polite and helpful,Overall I thought we were lucky to find this wee gem in a town that has expensive accomadation.
