Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe shower needs a bit more water & pressure. Scramble egg would be a nice addition to the breakfast.
I stayed here during my skiing trip to Fieschalp and Eggishorn. The location was very convenient, just a short walking distance from the cable car. The hotel has a lot of history and tradition, but at the same time offers modern amenities like a spa and water massage. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here for my next ski trip.

United KingdomClearly mentioned at the booking is “limited electrical outlets in the rooms”. This is correct. We took a multi USB adaptor with us and that was good. If you forget anything, there is a good general shop 100m away.
Breakfast was good, cold Swiss fare with plenty of fresh variety, very enjoyable. The terrace has a beautiful sunny aspect in the afternoon and is perfect for a post-ski drink. We often had our evening meal in the restaurant and were never disappointed. The food was fresh and tasty and the selection of wines worked well for us. Prices seemed consistent with the local area.

Brilliant old hotel with charm and a mix of just enough modernity. Bountiful breakfast, cozy bar, delicious restaurant. fabulous jacuzzi, free on-site parking. And just a 5 minute walk to the gondola, brilliant! The staff are welcoming and do all they can to make your experience a rewarding one. I had one query which was dealt with very professionally and with lovely follow-up before I checked out. Thank you, will be back!

United KingdomThe hotel is in a large old building which had lots of personality, but my adapter did not work in the old sockets - make sure you have a 2 or 3 pronged Swiss adapter as you cannot use the European ones in the sockets. No hot options at the free breakfast, which would have been nice.
Very lovely old hotel with lots of personality. A good stay in the peaceful town of Fiesch.

Switzerlandthe breakfast was great: a buffet with many choice also for vegetarians and even vegan. The Hotel has charm. There is a mix of old and new (furniture, decoration). The short text giving information on known people and unknown people that used in the past a room, was interesting and gave an insight on the history of the building. I liked it very much and if we come back to Fiesch or to the region we will certainly come back. The restaurant in the Building of the Hotel has great food. It is also perfect if you want to do some cross country skiing. The train station is 5 min walking away and from there you can go with the train to Oberwald, a center worldwide for cross country skiing. No car needed and the train fare is included win the day ticket for the cross country pits (loosen).

NetherlandsWe knew this beforehand, but the rooms are old. Like, really old. We didn’t mind this but I do think the price is a bit too high for the facilities it offers. The bathroom is tiny and I would have liked a mini fridge in our room. However, the rooms themselves are really spacious.
We enjoyed our stay at Du Glacier, having a bar and restaurant downstairs that’s open also on Monday’s when everything else is close. They serve really nice food and drinks, just bear in mind that it is pricey like everything in Switzerland. The staff was super friendly and breakfast had all the options you would expect.

NetherlandsRooms did not have proper curtains, so unable to cover the window for a little privacy or to stop the early morning sun from entering the room and wake you up. According staff hotel was recently taken over and they were in the process of acquiring new curtains, so these should be there by now. Single rooms are very small. No elevator. No airconditioning.
