How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewIt's a great family location, absolutely amazing for hopping on the Dieni lift and get skiing without any hassle. For the more adventurous the train going toward Oberalp, Andermatt and it's a picturesque ride. The owners were great and helped us with all that we needed. Place is beautiful, clean, quiet, perfect for that mountain relaxation holiday!
I would definitely make a point on making clear there is no lobby/lounge/restaurant outside of the open hours - upon booking I saw some pictures so directly assumed they would be available at all times, and in fact it's more of a bed&breakfast(&dinner) situation. Not bad at all, the food offered was also amazing, just not having the option for a lounge didn't serve the trip with my friends this particular time, I would still highly recommend.

Unfriendly staff, doors locked in the check in time and evening, no option to eat dinner in the hotel.

So far it hasn't been a challenge for anyone to call quickly to check in and it's been that way for almost 2 years. On the subject of food and no possibility of eating in the restaurant, I have to disagree massively, since you also received the information regarding advance reservations for the fondue or aperitif platter, so every guest has the opportunity to dine with us. If this was the case on Saturday, we had no more space because 1. the preparations had been completed and 2. because there was no reservation. Wish you all the best, Greetings Hotel Cresta

Verified reviewReally amazing breakfast, that's a 10 and just next door a ski lift.
Room was slightly dated but the breakfast area is cozy. For a short ski trip this was however an excellent choice. I had expected at the original price for the room much more of the hotel, so it was a slight disappointment at first, but anyway, the breakfast will made all up, overall a good choice!

Verified reviewLocation! View was breathtaking! Breakfast options were less but good. We had done last minute booking and reached the hotel pretty late at night. Checkin was still smooth and the person behind reception was helpful.
We had booked for a family room. Which apparently was listed incorrectly as available due to some technical glitch. We were given 2 near by double rooms instead. One of these rooms was just great! But the other one had this smell..

HI JOHN, thanks for your rating. You have to difference between "end of season" or "closing days restaurant". Every guest receive an message prior arrival and there we informed that the restaurant is closed in the evening on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. So the Restaurant was closed, because we won't work 24/7 and NOT why it is end of season! Please do not spread fake informations, because we're still open! Thanks

Verified reviewWonderful warm welcome even though we were late. The room was perfect with an amazing view from the balcony. Everything was super clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with good choice. Car park at the hotel. The restaurant was having a night off when we were there but no problem as we walked up the road a little to another.

Verified reviewThis was a last minute find. The hotel is located in the middle of the village and has great views over the valley. For us it was just an overnight stop and we felt great.
The restaurant was closed but the receptionist recommended a very nice restaurant in the next village, within walking distance. Great experience.
