Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThis is a very family friendly accommodation, so not always quiet/ calm if that is what you are looking for.
This hotel is very historic and has a tranquil setting with easy access to St Moritz by bus, walking, or car. The receptionist was the loveliest person and was very knowledgable about the house and the surrounding area. We enjoyed hiking trails with breathtaking views thanks to her recommendations. The food is really good, with a delicious breakfast buffet and à la carte menu or three-course dinner.

SwitzerlandWe loved everything.
This is an amazing (!!) villa, with a fantastic historical background. It is a true Swiss-dream mansion with huge natural property/garden and amazing views. The dinner was excellent!! Fantastic food, top service. The staff was best in class ! They provided us a beautiful private hall to eat, with amazing view. They also called us to make sure, that we get the best suit arrangement for our family of. Thank you so much! We will return! And this property supports women and their children in need, as a non-profit hotel, for ca. 100 years. The history of it is also amazing! You get the very best of St. Moritz!!

United KingdomI wish we had stayed longer. It's Switzerland, so it is expensive, but had I realised what was available I would have stayed longer!
A charming period chalet, with kind and helpful staff eager to make you feel comfortable and at home. Glorious views from all the rooms. Family suite was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Wonderful facilities, especially for younger children (zip wire, sandpit, lawns). The kitchen team will make you a picnic or put together a BBQ package and you can hike to a nearby little lake to swim and use the free BBQs and logs. Stay 2 or more nights and get chairlift passes to the higher peaks around.

ItalyBathrooms are shared and unisex, so if someone is showering the toilet is also occupied, which can be inconvenient. Staff interactions felt selective, as they interrupted our conversation to assist other guests first. We were promised a personalized sandwich with a name card but never received it (unnamed sandwich, but overall amazing sandwich as takeaway breakfast), and the provided hairdryer was excessively loud. Although there’s a kettle in the mini kitchenette, no tea or coffee was supplied. Rooms below the common area sometimes carried an unpleasant sewer-like odor, and overall pricing felt a bit too high for these drawbacks.
About 30 minutes on foot from the city center, this lodge feels wonderfully immersed in nature, offering amazing views and easy access to nearby hiking paths. The clean, cozy common areas include a thoughtfully designed library with striking interior details, and the simple yet tasteful décor carries through to the guest rooms. Although some rooms sit below the common spaces—due to the house’s hillside position—they still benefit from natural light, and the overall interior feels warm and inviting. The Wi‑Fi worked perfectly throughout our stay.

United StatesNo lift/elevator, so had to carry luggage on stairs. Silvia helped too and overall, it wasn’t bad. We had private separate bathroom. Initially, it felt weird to go across and we were anxious about running into other guests in the hallway, but we didn’t and overall t was good.
Good location. The villa is now converted into a hotel. Good views from the hotel and it felt very cozy. We also appreciate hospitality from all staff and especially Silvia. We checked in late and Silvia had her kitchen make hot meal for us. The food was delicious. The breakfast had decent choices for vegetarians. We enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed here couple days more.

United StatesWe came in July and it was quite warm in the room (no AC). Windows could only open a little bit. It was hard to sleep. I’m sure it would have been more comfortable in other months. Bathroom was private but we have to go out of our room to access it. A little inconvenient when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Friendly staff and great breakfast. Great play room for kids.

AustraliaA shower curtain is a bit of a pain but really pales in significance.
The Swiss are renoun for their hospitality, it is in their DNA. Hotel Chesa Spuondas is a perfect example of this gift. We were grateful to Andrea whose service exceeded normal exspectations when she picked us up in her car thus avoiding a long, hot walk.

United StatesWe don’t have any major complaints just suggestions. The hotel is rather far from the train station. We knew this when we made the reservation. There is a comment on Booking.com that the best way to the hotel is by taxi, which would have cost CHF 36 each way. We discovered that the 605 bus runs on a loop from the train station bus stand, right past the hotel, with a 3 minute walk between the bus stop and the hotel. The bus costs CHF 3 each ticket. This information would be useful for travelers to have on the site. Breakfast was good, and included a variety of cold options, but the gluten free bread was quite dry (I made an advance request and do appreciate its availability, but individually wrapped rolls are best). The options were slim for me (gluten and dairy free for medical reasons), but sufficient for most. There were pastries, cereals, fruit, yogurt, and sliced meats. I would have liked to have eggs available, especially since the hotel is so far from town. Overall Hotel Chesa Spuondas is a very nice place to stay
This is a beautiful and unique hotel in a former private mansion. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and it had a nice view, though it was not nearly as beautiful as the rooms shown on the site (only mentioned because of expectations guests may have). Staff were helpful, and Andrea at the front desk was particularly pleasant. If you stay 2+ nights you receive a card for local sights. The views from the deck are gorgeous, and the location is very peaceful. We slept very well!

United StatesWish we had planned to stay longer. The home, the staff and the surrounding area are definitely worth more than our 1 night stay.
The breakfast was exceptional with healthy options and fresh food. Dinner was excellent with many options and a vegetarian option as well. The children’s playground was an unexpected delight complete with a zip line! The historic fantastic home backed up to a hiking trail with splendid wild flowers and chirping birds. Andrea was especially attentive and engaging especially with our young grandson. She even gave him a couple if farewell gifts to occupy him during our travels!!
