Wonderful homestay accommodation our room was very comfortable with a TV, kettle and a big cooling fan, the bathroom was also very nice with everything you need. Esther is a lovely lady and met our every need including letting us have some space in the fridge for our cool bag. You have free use of the balcony and I highly recommend this with views over Lake Zurich. There is a lift inside the apartment block and there is parking on the corner with a meter its only 1 CHF per hour and free from 18;00-08;00. Photos are from the balcony

This was my second stay here and once again everything was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and tidy, with great internet connection. Esther was very kind and welcoming. The location is perfect — quiet, yet very close to the lake. Highly recommended!

We found this cozy and affordable accommodation by chance. Horgen is about 25 mins train from Zurich HB and 30 mins from Zurich airport It is a small town by Lake Zurich. The apartment is within walking distance from the train station and swimming facility. Excellent place to unwind and reboot.. Cost is a fraction of that in Zurich. We bought a rail pass that gives us unlimited rides in train, ferry, and bus in the whole zurich canton. This makes horgen an even better choice to stay. Although Chez Esther is a homestay, there is complete privacy as Esther is usually in her own room. Our own 26 sq m room has a desk, lounge area, TV, and many books. We have a dedicated toilet just outside our room solely for our use. We can use the oven and refrigerator. We can take our meals in one of two lovely terraces.

The kind and welcoming host provided a beautiful home and bedroom. It was quiet and private. The station was nearby, and the lake was a few steps away. I highly recommend the place for business travel and leisure stays.

The location of the apartment is simply super. The only "noice" comes from the train passing close by, but that didn't bother us at all. Other than that it's really peacefull and beautiful area. You feel safe and calm. Stores and restaurants are close by and you get around by train pretty easily. Esther is a wonderful and kind hostess and we felt very welcome to her home. Everything was nice and clean and the place had everything we needed: a huge bedroom, kitchen, toilet&shower and a balcony with a stunning view to the lake Zürich. We would definitely recommend if you appreciate a peaceful stay.

We can't really think of anything we didn't like. Everything was great.

Safe location . Host helpful with local knowledge.

Very hot and stuffy. Apparently we should have closed the window shutters which we didn't know even existed and weren't closed when we arrived. Our host made a point of telling us she went to bed at 9pm, so when arrived one evening at 9.45 the flat was pitch dark and we felt we had to tiptoe around.

Everything was just perfect. Esther is very nice and kind, and the stay was super. Room cozy and comfortable. Just 15 mins by train to Zurich.

Modern style room with two big windows and with a view of the Zürich lake. Everything was very clean and with a high quality. A beautiful place. We slept very well in the comfortable bed.

It may be good to understand that is a "home stay", and you walk through the living-room and the kitchen to reach your room. You can use the kitchen to make your coffee but not to cook anything. There is a railway just behind the house but we were not disturbed during the night even though we slept with the window open.

Esther is a wonderful host. She is so kind, lovely and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything needed during my stay. The apartment was very clean, I had my own bathroom, private parking and all the amenities I needed. The location is excellent and the view from the balcony is sublime. It is the perfect spot to have a coffee in the morning, watching the sunrise over lake Zurich with the mountains on the horizon. Beautiful! It is also only a short walk to all the lovely restaurants Horgen has to offer and with great public transport links, Zurich is only a short journey away.

Nothing, everything was perfect. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I will definitely be staying again when I return!

Best Homestay in the Area. Perfect Location

Esther was extremely friendly and kind. Although the house is not in the center, it is close to public transportation and there is free parking in front. The house overlooking Lake Zurich was very clean and comfortable.

The location was perfect, less than a minute's walk to a spot on the lake for swimming. I could see the lake from my room and the room was huge, really light and airy with a very comfortable bed.
